A Hidden Gem in Rockford Nestled in the heart of Rockford, Plume is a culinary treasure that promises an extraordinary dining experience. From the moment you step in, you are enveloped in an ambiance that is both sophisticated and inviting. The interior is beautifully designed, with thoughtful details that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you choose to sit on the lovely patio, at the inside or outside bar, or in the intimate, cozy dining room, you’ll find the perfect spot to relax and enjoy your meal. A Feast for the Senses Plume’s menu is a celebration of innovative food combinations, with each dish expertly crafted to delight the palate. The starters, handmade pasta and desserts are all the stars of the show, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to quality and freshness. The Pumpernickel Cavatelli pasta is a standout, leaving a lasting impression with its unique flavor and perfect texture. The appetizers are equally impressive, with even the simplest items, like the bread on the charcuterie board, the richness of the Halloumi and the flavor combination of the Peach Panzanella delivers exceptional taste. Every bite is a testament to the care and skill that goes into the preparation of each dish. Desserts to Dream About No meal at Plume is complete without indulging in their exquisite desserts. The homemade tiramisu is a revelation, light and delicious, providing the perfect end to a fantastic meal. Each dessert is a work of art and flavor explosion, offering a sweet finale that will have you planning your next visit before you’ve even left the table. Drinks and More The drink options at Plume are as unique and delightful as the food. Whether you’re in the mood for a carefully crafted cocktail or a glass of fine wine, you’ll find the perfect complement to your meal. The excellent plating and generous portion sizes ensure that you leave satisfied, both visually and gastronomically. Worth the Trip Plume is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience. The combination of exceptional food, beautiful ambiance, and attentive service makes it a must-visit. Despite the almost one-hour drive from where I live, I would return in a heartbeat. Plume could easily compete with top establishments in the city, making it a fantastic addition to Rockford’s dining scene. It feels like a delightful escape, offering a slice of culinary heaven that you’ll be eager to revisit.

What a gem! We visited Plume during their soft opening with a group of friends and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. We sat on the outdoor patio, which has a wonderful ambiance – string lights, open air, and a secluded feeling from the traffic outside their walls. It was a beautiful summer night, and the patio made it even better! The handmade pasta and craft cocktails are the stars of the show. Every dish was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were on point. I had the halloumi small plate and the Paccheri Pesto pasta dish, both bursting with fresh ingredients. My friends all raved about their dishes as well. There was something for everyone on the menu which admirably strives to be inclusive of multiple dietary restrictions. For an absolutely decadent way to end your meal, I can't recommend the Nutella Pot de Creme enough. Bliss! We also couldn't resist trying a variety of Plume's craft cocktails. The drink menu was creative and interesting, and the bartenders were clearly passionate about their craft. The SSZ is bold, and beautiful. The Celery Root of All Evil is herbaceous and refreshing. The Ca-Peach? is sweet and downright delicious. We can't wait to come back and work our way through the rest of the menu! The service was excellent too. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and they made sure we had a great night. Overall, I can't recommend Plume highly enough. If you're looking for a delicious meal, amazing drinks, and a beautiful outdoor setting (or stylish indoor space!), this is the place to go. In what can feel like a sea of chain restaurants, this is the kind of establishment every city should strive to attain and support.

I love fresh, handmade pasta and having lived in Chicago and Seattle, I have been privileged to some amazing Italian restaurants. To my knowledge the only restaurants in Rockford to (sometimes) offer fresh, hand-made pasta are abreo (typically 1 or 2 dishes, which are good to fantastic (the pine nut ravioli)), woodfire (made off-site at a different restaurant; their pizza is much better), and this new Plume restaurant. Although I was very excited to have some higher end Italian in Rockford, no one at our table was impressed with the food or the service. The Lasagna okay and very meaty. I would not recommend the Pumperknickle cavatelli (pictured), but if a bacon and mild sauerkraut pasta dish sounds great to you it will be right up your alley, and the risotto was as my friend described, “not there”, as the flavor is covered with a spiced corn and lime. So three main dishes and three strikes — we’re out. Now I would absolutely recommend coming here for the suppli appetizer: deep fried balls of risotto and cheese with an aioli sauce — those were pretty great! The Ca-peach cocktail was also very good. Finally the tiramisu was okay, but the 4 of us didn’t finish it. Service was eager to be kind but was a tad short at times — everyone at our table had raised eyebrows at least twice. Oh and my wife reminds me that they also did not have any bread here. The gold standard in this area for fresh pasta is definitely Velvet Buffalo’s spaghetti and meatball (in Beloit). Abreo usually has a great pasta dish. Let me know if there are others I should try!

I had the pleasure of dining at Plume recently and I have to say the experience was simply enchanting. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a charming ambiance. We had a fantastic experience at the bar with the incredibly skilled bartenders who truly took our drink order to the next level. I requested something fruity and fresh with gin, and they surpassed my expectations by crafting a unique concoction that perfectly suited my taste. Their attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction made me feel truly valued and special. When we were seated at our table, the service continued to impress. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The menu had a variety of options and everything we ordered was outstanding. I am gluten sensitive, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try their hand-made lasagna, and I'm glad I did. Not only was the pasta outstanding, but I was also pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't experience any negative symptoms afterwards. In addition to the delicious lasagna, I also sampled their gluten-free hot chicken dish, and it was simply outstanding. The flavors were robust and satisfying, leaving me completely satisfied. The fact that they offer a variety of gluten-free options really sets this place apart for me, making it easy for those with dietary restrictions like me to enjoy a fantastic meal. If you're looking for a locally owned and operated restaurant that offers exceptional food, service, and atmosphere, look no further than Plume. It's a true hidden gem that deserves all the praise...
