My rating for Latham Tap is 1-star for a huge reason. Their food is good and their atmosphere is pleasant which is why my rating used to be higher. But here's my reason for my current rating. On January 29 in the evening, my vehicle was parked in the paved parking area across the street from the entrance - a parking area most Latham customers use for their cars. At some point during that night, one of the other customers had hit my vehicle as they were leaving. Due to it being almost midnight that night, the damage was not seen until morning the next day. I called Latham Tap regarding the situation and when I asked if there was any cameras facing that part of the lot, I was told that there was not, the only part that would have any cameras facing is the parking directly next to the building. My SUV is currently in the body shop now with heavier damage than you could see, based on the damage that was found, the damage appears to have been caused by a pickup. I did call Latham again today to talk to the owner and while she may have a meeting or two today, the bartender that picked up the line today had that tone in her voice that she was making excuses for the owner to talk to me. Yes I get that you park at your own risk, I was and am dealing with the car repair. But that night, I did notice that the bartenders have not been paying attention to patrons that should be cut off from being served any more alcohol and the bartenders not looking for signs of I toxication of their patrons. I've seen in many other Rockford bars where other bartenders have cut patrons off and removed them if need be. I have not seen that here at Latham. Had their bartenders been paying attention to this and options for alternate transportation shown at this establishment, my SUV would not have been hit. Sooner or later, someone will get hurt or killed by their bartenders' lack of attention in these circumstances. I'm hurt, because I have been a patron of Latham for over 5 years, their food is good, prices are reasonable, but the lack of safety in this circumstance for their patrons is what makes me not want to come back. Once they retrain their bartenders for this and post options to make sure their patrons leave Latham safely instead of letting them drive drunk, I will...
Read moreThe female bartender that worked Super Bowl Sunday was very rude. I have known Gabe for years going back to when he bartender at the Victory Tap. I have been going to Latham for over 30 years. Because of the rudeness and attitude of this girl we will not be returning. Our bill was $52, sandwiches, wings, couple beers each, there was 3 of us, all over 55. My name is Julie. One other time we were in there, just me and a friend, ordered a Ruben and a Italian beef. Asked if we could have sliced pickles and the same female bartender said very rudely that it would be 50 cents extra. We got our bill and it was like $40 dollars. So I looked at it and she charged us $5 each for the pickles instead of 50 cents. She got really rude grabbed the bill and gave us our refund of $10. Super Bowl Sunday night she gave us our bill and all I said was can I see that, she started yelling getting all defensive saying that overcharge last time was a accident going on and on about it. I feel she knew exactly what she was doing when she overcharged us and was going to correct it as soon as we left and put the 10 in her pocket. If you would like me to come in personally and talk to you I have no problem with that. All I can say is you have lost 3 loyal customers....
Read moreI LOVE a good neighborhood bar - one of those that you can be comfortable by yourself or with friends and have lots of laughs with the people you meet, the Latham Tap originally was all of those things. The main thing about a neighborhood hangout is knowing your bartenders. We would walk in and Kat, and Cathy were a mainstay - they were so friendly and attentive, since covid, things have not been the same and I understand that it took time to get up and running again, but why change the faces and Kat had been working the heck out of social media to grow your business. Service was mediocre at best last night - new person didn't even take the time to try and know us - there were 12 people there. We left and went to Mulligans 2 bartenders, lots of people and they took care of their customers like your employees...
