Heather our usual Bartender at, "the Moon", as we affecionally refer to it, is awesome. While we were staying in Rockford we ate and drank at the Moon several times, but the three most impressive dinners were all daily specials, thanksgiving turkey plate was excellent, loaded with fresh mashed potatos, stuffing and covered with housemade gravy! Another evening, we had an excellent, tender New York strip, with a huge baked potato with all the, fixins and a side garden salad with their blue cheese dressing, but the absolute, hands down winner of the entire trip, was the Seafood Fettuccine, I told my husband, "I think this is not only the best seafood fettuccine we've had in a long time, I deemed it the best I have ever had, period!!! We've eaten at some of the best restaurants in the country. The Harvest Moon in tiny little Rockford truly Rocked this one.!

On my first visit I was very impressed. The food was incredible, service was outstanding and I will be back again. My family had the burnt ends pork belly, Mozzarella sticks, pulled pork sandwich, sloppy joe sandwich and the kids had grilled cheese. The burnt ends were smothered in a homemade bbq sauce which had a perfect balance of sweet and spice. The Mozzarella sticks were done perfectly and did not appear to be from a frozen bag. The pulled pork had a delicious sweet bbq sauce on it and a good smoke flavor. The sloppy joes were delicious and such a nice addition to the menu that I hardly ever see. The only reason for the 4 stars is the limited menu(which the owner said will be changed the day after) and the frozen tots and fries. I will absolutely be back and cant wait for the updated menu.

Quaint little establishment with awesome service and a down home feel. Wait staff was super friendly, super fast and fun. The good was great! Large portions and good prices. If you're driving through, definitely stop in, even for a milkshake.

Oh boy, I really wish this was not the review I was giving this place. Small businesses should always be supported which is the only reason it is getting 3 stars, an average rating. Basically I was told by so many people that the pizza from here was delicious. So one day I told myself I was going to give it a try. Let me start by saying what is good about this place. The service and the staff are all very good, four stars for them. The other food that I saw go past me looked very good, and the place itself is very clean. Now we get to the bad part. I ordered two pizzas, pepperoni and bbq chicken. When they arrived, boy did they look beautiful and the pizzas were huge! Well, you know how people say even bad pizza is good pizza? Unfortunately not true in this case. It's pretty hard to mess up pizza honestly but messed up it was. For starters, neither pizza had sauce on them. No tomato marinara sauce, no bbq sauce, nothing, nada, zilch. And there was something so very bland about the pizza that I cant quite put my finger on. In short, it was very bad, so bad that it was thrown out the next day. No one ate more than a slice of it. In summary, I hope this was an aberration on their part and not the norm. Is it worth trying? If you are brave and trust yourself to luck maybe. As for me I am never going back. It was bad enough I would definitely never order a pizza from there. The other food on the other hand, now that might be worth a try. Do yourself a favor and order...

Very disappointed in how this restaurant has gone down hill over the years. I have been many times in the past 6 or so years and the last few visits it has been terrible so I don't plan to return again. Chicken Caesar salad with a frozen breaded chicken strip cut up on top, sausage gravy clearly not homemade (runny, no flavor), most food is pre-made or frozen. Took 20 minutes to get silverware after requesting it, no water was offered or given from the start, people ended up getting up to serve themselves, and everything was dirty. Waitresses were either inattentive or understaffed/burnt-out, even making comments about how people can just leave if not happy with the service behind the bar loudly enough to be heard from booths on the opposite side. It makes me sad since this place used to be so cool with the frogs on the ceiling, wood tables and chairs, great eggs benedict, black and blue burger and breakfast in the past. Now the chairs and booths are old and uncomfortable more than ever before, environment is less fun, and food/service...
