Papo's Place — Restaurant in Rockport

Loved the outside at this place.

However the girls were rude and uninviting. We order from their small menu and being first timers we didn’t know where to pick up the food when ready. So when we came back when our disk lite up. She was rude like we were suppose to know where to pick it up. Maybe they should include signage on the food truck or when paying say something. No basic manners like hi hello how are you and thank you.

When we got to the register they didn’t Even say anything “hi what can I get foyou today” just silence You would think since the menu is small and hamburgers are made often they would be right. All we got was meat n cheese and had to go back to ask for other toppings.

Only thing on the menu is a grill cheese for kids.

My husband also missed the water area and asked for water refill and she had a snarky attitude when telling him. Is it empty … she looked and he said oh it’s right there” and she walked away. The drink area was out of lids but he didn’t wanna ask because they were so uninviting.

Some advice ur girls need to be more friendly and learn manners. Being kid friendly means families are wanting to have a good time. I would say right now it’s lacking the friendly part.

You also have a small menu so I would assume my food wouldn’t take 30mins and be terribly wrong .. I purposely didn’t make any mods to make it even easier on yall and to not bug anyone since they didn’t seem to want to work or be there.

Side note: noticed their reviews are all from several years ago when they were owned and renamed by someone else

HOWEVER , Their marketing is really good which drew us in to go have fun but just wasn’t inviting or friendly. Idk if we will be back because first impressions weren’t great with...

The food here is HORRIBLE!!! It’s a fun atmosphere if you just want to hang out, watch the boats in the water, watch a game, let your kids play, drink, etc. but beware… don’t eat the food!!

Update in response to the owner question… I’m not trying to be harsh, just honest. Yes, we tried a good variety of it. The fish smelled and tasted awful, the shrimp was super greasy and tasted awful, the buffalo wings were decent but tasted like they’d been cooked in a microwave, and the kids had a grilled cheese, but it wasn’t grilled enough to melt the cheese, so it was 2 pieces of Texas toast with a slice of warm cheese in it. Read the reviews for Papo's and at first decided not to come here but ended up here because of Marker 12 reviews not realizing it wasn't Marker 12. I'm so glad it took us to Papo's! People skip over the negative reviews(To many negative Nancy's out there!!) Every staff encountered were so nice and even the owner checked in on us. Granite, yes the menu is Currently limited but its delicious!! (See photos) it tasted fresh to us! I swear we waited less than 10 minutes. We are already planning to come back next month. We live 2 hours away or we'd make this our weekend hangout place.
