New Mexican food restaurant. Lots of menu choices. The barbacoa mini tacos were awesome, el pastor mini tacos were very good as well. Taco salad got an A. White wings got an A. Texas schrimp, which were bacon wrapped received a B. The chicken wings & fries were average with a C grade. The child's plate enchilada received A grade as well. This restaurant has potential to be very good. I highly recommend it. Prices were affordable. Service was good & friendly. Update, 2nd trip, chimichanga was excellent. Enchilada plate average. Crispy tacos were good, but not enough lettuce on plate, & sour cream addition is $2 extra, but the ground beef is flavored well. Queso was good, but had to send back to be heated in microwave. Chips need improvement. Update, had breakfast here, highly recommend pork chop & egg breakfast. Bus quits are a bit on hard side, gravy is bland, I suspect an instant mix, even though they said it was scratch made. The menudo, was average. Service is excellent. My wife said the French toast was very good. Dinner December 22, #19 mini Barbados tacos, are the bomb, just awesome. Loved the cast, but some said it was to Spivey. Wife said chimichanga still very good. On rare occasions, they can be short staffed. Be patient. On another occasion wife had ribeye, it’s thin cut, but was very good. The queso compuesto is incredible. Love the gorditas also. This place just keeps...
Read moreRemarkable improvement since opening, absolutely worth your time. Management clearly cares. Hot tortillas (important), great charro beans, crispy tasty fries. Use the salsa on tacos, not the chips (also better than before). Service was great and they had soccer on TV. The al pastor was quite good and came with everything you'd expect.
Areas of improvement, in my opinion: the guac needs more lime, it's good but it's missing that acidic bite. The sour cream had great flavor but a weird grainy texture reminiscent of cottage cheese with little tiny granules. We scooped it off the fries and set it to the side. Hot salsa (temperature) as an option would be 10/10. Charging more for using a card is a very bad look, a possible violation of CC processing agreements, and will end up being an unpopular practice. You are not supposed to pass that on to the customer.
Keep on keeping on and getting better, the sky is the limit. Whatever you're doing to make the experience as excellent as...
Read moreI love the mom and pop places. So I stop when I can. I was excited for some good Mexican food. I was a little disappointed. I started with chips and queso. The chips were bottom of the bag and mostly broken into small pieces. The queso was ok but tasted like it came from a jar. When you spend 10 dollars on chips and dip, you don't expect this. The fajitas were hot and pretty good. They only give you 2 tortillas and have to wait about 10 minutes for more. When they brought out my food, I got every add-on except the ones I ordered. Then, I was charged extra for what I ordered. I also ordered unsweetened tea and got sweet tea both times I asked. I've also never been to a place that made you pay extra for rice with your fajitas. The staff was nice and the restaurant was pretty clean. But for almost 40 dollars for 1 person, including the tip, I would have expected...
