We love the new look of your store. The atmosphere is brighter. Far more inviting and much cleaner appearing. However our service was horrible. It took forever for our waitress to come to our table. It was not busy at all at the time. I could tell by the by the customers neighboring us it was going to be bad. This was my birthday dinner. It was just my husband and I. When she came I asked ordered a peach tea and my husband ordered a diet pop. She asked if we knew what we wanted I said we would like to start with the white cheddar bites as an appitizers. I then said for my meal I would like The new Crispy tenders with mash potatoes and cole slaw and I would like corn muffins please. My husband said he would like the home style chicken dinner with 3 sides he said he wanted a dinner salad he said with Ranch and she said we’re out of Ranch… I said what….. I said oh know, what will come with my tenders- she said you never said anything so I “guess you not want no fin”. I said it shows 3 sauces, she said you pic “what u want”. I said I guess I will just have bbq and honey mustard. So my husband said just scatch the salad and just make it a 2 side dinner Steak Fries and Mac n Cheese. We waited 40 min on our food and our appetizer came out at the same time! All of it was cold. All of it. It sat up there. I beleive the waitress beleive to have some family or friends at the table in the front she kept talking to the kids and they were rubbing her and holding on to her. I tried to get her attention several times to ask about a refill and ask about our appetizer. I never could get our attention. Finally, when she gave them all hug she went back there in the back and it took forever and she brought our food out and she brought it all out and she brought all biscuits. And she just turned around and walked away before I could even ask for a refill. I had nothing to drink in my cup my husband had nothing to drink in his cup. She turned around to take the peoples order at the next table and left we could not get her attention I raised my hand and everything like I was in school.. When our food came out, it was cold. All of it was cold as if it just especially our appetizer. We both were very disappointed and quickly asked for boxes for our food. I ask her for a refill when I could get her attention and I drunk half of it down quickly and I said can I please have a cup of this to go, I will gladly pay for it. She brought me out a kids cup for me to pour that less than half of glass that I drink in it, I am disgusted that I paid that much and got to drink. Little bit. I had to ask her if I could have cornbread to go because she never brought it out so I can have it to go with my coleslaw.. We never had a manager come around and ask how anything went when we got to go pay for our food. The line was horrendous and there was only one lady working and then A young manager, it appeared to be come and helped her we checked out. She never asked how our experience was. We were disgusted and left. We of course use my rewards so my appetizer was free. I purchased a couple while I was there as I always do purchase something. I spend a lot of money at Cracker Barrel. All my bedding in my house are quilts from Cracker Barrel. I changed them out often as you get new ones. I am just disgusted that that was my birthday dinner and we took it home and my husband took it to work the next day.. I was gonna go online and complain to the one 800 number on the receipt and I thought. nahh. And then this review came up today. I don’t like to complain. I like to give compliments. Normally, we have amazing service there. I don’t know what was going on Was a horrible experience. And she was a horrible waitress. It wasn’t about a bad day. She had a horrible attitude. Read moreMy husband and I went for Breakfast on 3/30/25, the food was good but the waiter forgot to bring my pancakes that came with the meal, he said I got you and he asked how many I wanted, not sure why he asked that I just said one. On our way home I realized he had charged us $3.99 for 1 (One) pancake. My husband also had a glass of Apple juice which has no refills, when the glass was half empty he brought us another glass of juice. I said we didn't ask for a second drink. He thought he would throw that in there as an additional charge on the bill. FAST FORWARD….
We went for lunch yesterday, 4/10/25, the waitress was horrible. She forgot that my husband had already ordered his meal and with attitude asked him again what would you like? I guess she thought we were taking up too much of her time., the place was not even busy and she is the one who forgot that he had already given her his order. Once we received our order, I told her she had forgotten the toast that came with the meal and also the side order I had placed., I said just go ahead and get the toast and for the second time I said make sure it is already butter. She said just give me the appetiter order again and I will submit them both. The toast finally came cold and hard with no butter on it. When I put the butter on it of course it did not melt. After about 10 minutes I asked for a to go container because by now I’m completely frustrated. I still had not received my appetizer which was being paid for by my rewards. Finally, someone came from the kitchen with the appetizers and asked me if I had ordered them, the waitress was nowhere in sight and she had forgotten to pick them up and they were cold. She finally brought out two to go containers and as she walked away, I asked if we could get a bag to put them in. She never came back with a bag. When we got to the register, the lady asked if we wanted a bag I said yes and I didn’t understand why the waitress would not give us a bag to put the food in. She then rang up our food and charged us for the appetizer in which I said the appetizer was supposed to be free with my rewards. She said it was not on the receipt so she had to call the manager over to refund us the difference, which was over seven dollars. It was not a very good experience. Read moreIt was December 22nd 2023. Me and my mom ate at the Cracker Barrel in Merrillville IN located on 61st Avenue. We were seated in a timely manner in an area that we requested. Unfortunetly we ended up getting the same waitress that we have had before. Her name is Edna S. Again this time this waitress was slow. We sat for 45 minutes for our order and we also sat for a long time to receive our order on the previous visit. When me and my mom was placing our order she question my mom in a rude tone. My mom wanted the Grandma breakfast that came with 2 panacakes. My mom also asked for an extra suryp. The waitress said "you want 3 syrups with only 2 pancakes"? I thought that was rude of her. If we are paying for the extra item then it doesn't matter. We were talking straight to her when we ask to recieve our coffee's in the to go cups because this will keep the coffee's hot longer. She walks up to the table and have the regular coffee ceramic cups. Also on both visits we had to speak with a manager to let him know what the problem was with Edna. I said on both occasions that she was super slow and needed help in her area. Each manager had to give here assistance and I know this because I saw it on the way out.There was more things as well from the previous visit and the current one. I want to type it all but it would take more unnecessary time. Also before I leave I wanted to say there was a young lady there by the name of Kristen. She was the cleaner(bus) for the tables. We got there a little before 10am and she was the only cleaner. That was sad because it was pretty busy. I don't know if some people called off or they just quit but she was working very hard and moving very fast. She was even helping me and mom while our waitress was nowhere around. I wanted to get up and help Kristen clean off them tables because she needed help but there was no one to help her. She deserved a bonus, but that is my opinion. The waitress was a senior citizen but that does not give her the right to take so long. My mom is 70 year old and she could have worked that whole area with know problem.
