This place has tons of potential but the service is definitely lacking. We have gone in twice and both times the food was good. Very large portions; almost too large for the price: I donât see how theyâre making any money. Unfortunately, on our most recent visit, we were very disappointed for several reasons. First, it was freezing cold inside, even with a jacket on! Also, the light above our table was blown or not working. Second, we waited forever to be greeted and even longer for our drinks. We ordered an appetizer that we never received and when we told the girl that brought us our entrees she just shrugged and said, âoh. I guess I didnât see that you ordered that.â A manager or owner, not sure which, but the guy with long hair and a beard that seemed to be the one in charge never visited our table or said anything about their mistake. Our server was very polite but he too seemed too busy to be very bothered taking care of us. My husband ordered a margarita that was very small. He usually will have a second one if they are decent but after the food runner brought our meals we didnât see the server again until he asked if we needed a to go box and our check. We live very close to this place and we love Mexican food but Mexican restaurants are nearly as common as Baptist churches in our area. We will probably drive just a bit farther up the street next time to another place that has better service and equally...
Read moreIt was definitely tasty!! However, my meal was awkward and they definitely are still having opening pains. I ordered the Paradise Quesadilla which comes with chicken. Mine came out with steak for some reason. It wasn't little cut up pieces either. It was long tough strips, not really ideal for a quesadilla. I'd asked for cheese added since it didn't come with it (A quesadilla with no cheese? Weird, right?) The waitress asked me if I wanted shredded or cheese sauce. I told her shredded and she carefully wrote it down while repeating it back to me. Yet mine came out with cheese sauce. The outside of the quesadilla was a soggy, drippy mess of oil. Overall very awkward to eat. I also ordered a tamale. For those who don't know, a tamale is supposed to have a filling surrounded by a cooked corn batter-like substance. This tamale was 9/10ths batter, hardly any filling and the filling that was there was all pushed to one side instead of evenly distributed. It tasted okay. Finally, there was only one person who was answering the phone and taking money....on a Friday night during prime dinner hours. Not smart. The waitstaff were super attentive! I'm sure they would have fixed these things if I'd asked, but we just wanted to be fed quickly and on our way. Would I come back? Yes Would I choose Amigos over Ms. G's (four...
Read moreWent yesterday. Stood up front almost 10 min with no one visible before we were seated. The server was justâŚoff. He took our drinks, asked if we wanted chips and salsa (yeah he asked, thatâs like asking someone would they like to breathe) and asked if we wanted cheese also. We replied to the affirmative.
He comes back with a bowl of cheese, a bowl of salsa, and no chips.
It took another trip and 5-6 min to get the chips.
Then he disappeared for another 10 min.
He came and took our orders, I ordered a fajita quesadilla with steak, my brother had an el pollo loco.
It came out 20 min later and it looked good, on the plate, but when I opened my quesadilla, the steak was burnt black. Some of the pieces looked like meat on one side, and crunchy coal on the other. Plus it was just greasy. Pools of grease in the quesadilla.
I asked the lady whom I assumed was the manager if it was always like that, and she replied âwell it just depends on whoâs cooking. I canât get them to understand what rare and medium rare means.â
She offered to remake it, but what few bites I took plus the chips already had me full and I had her take it off the bill.
We went to pay and the bill for one el pollo loco, 2 drinks, chips salsa and cheese was still $25 dollars some how.
Donât think...
