Roadside Restaurant — Restaurant in Rostraver Township

A pleasant surprise! I've lived nearby for many years now and I've never stopped to eat, partially because there weren't many menu photos available online and I wasn't sure if they would have any food options suitable for a pescatarian. Here, they have a general menu that's updated regularly (it's posted on the door if you want to look before going inside) and a rotating specials menu!

On the general menu, I was pleasantly surprised with multiple seafood options! I had the shrimp skewer, which came with two sides (mashed potatoes and onion rings, although there are a lot of different options!), a drink (can of pop, no free refills) and the salad bar for a total of $13.78. Cash only, and ATM. The salad bar was small, but had typical salad ingredients, rice pudding and chocolate pudding today! I assume that this also could rotate!

A true "mom & pop" type place where the staff was very friendly and helpful. The one strange (or intriguing, depending on your viewpoint) decor choice was a surprising amount of wooden political & celebrity caricatures along the main wall. Even with this quirk, everything was nice and clean and extremely filling!

I went here with my family for dinner and had baked fish. First time they brought out my fish it was still frozen in the middle. Second time it was a very rubbery constancy. I ate it anyway not wanting to cause a seen. Instant mashed potatoes. Salad bar was frankly really on its last leg. This was at about 6 o'clock soup on the salad bar was off and not warm. Within 30 minutes of finishing my fish while still at the restaurant I got extremely sick. Symptoms included stomach pain, sweating, flushing, and them before we could leave vomiting both in the restroom and the parking lot. This place feels like old times, better times. Not modern in any sense of the word, but very welcoming. If you're offended easily, this is not the establishment for you.

Ham BBQ sandwich was delicious and filling. The side of fries were an actual side, not overflowing to make up for poor food quality.

Wait staff was pleasant and accommodating. I will be coming back.

My only critique, the floor cleanliness needs to be improved. I didn't notice until going towards the restroom that the tiles could be ivory white or better. There's a section of high traffic carpet that needs...
