Needed to use the rest room and grab a coffee. Came back to my car and one tire was low on air, asked one of the clerks if I could get air and because I have never had to take care of these things myself( hubs is a mechanic) I asked for help. They were so gracious. Came to find that the tire wouldn't hold air and the one young woman offered to hep me change my tire. She and her coworker were so patient and helpful. We had trouble getting the spare out, it was screwed in too tight. The jack wasn't quite high enuf, tried one of their jacks and finally we let mine down, found a 2 by 4 and tried again to get the car up high enuf. The tire was stuck on the car, we fought with it, kicked it, kicked some more and eventually we got it loose. My hubs said it should take 15 to 20 minutes but we fought with the stubborn thing for nearly an hour and a half. They did not give up and were so incredibly kind and gracious. I learned a great deal from them and cannot thank them enough. I am emabarrased at my helplessness, they inspired me to learn and if ever it comes up again, I think I'll be able to figure it out! Thankful the Rothsay Truck Stop has such amazing employees. They went over and above! On my adventures, this will be a regular stop from now on, hopefully just need coffee...
Read moreWriting this just to bring light to an aspect others often overlook: how fast an employee could zap. Susanne was exceptional, having a talent no others could even dream of. At the end of the day, the sun cowers at the speed of her zapping, retiring away as the moon rises with more enthusiasm to try and compete. Of course, both fail, with the wind and the stars as awed spectators. Her fingers are too quick, faster than a bullet spilling from a rifleman's tool. All while maintaining her charm and her glowing smile, with perfect locks of hair framing herself. She zaps away just as quickly as you set your spoils on the cashier counter. Too quickly, you're caught off guard, but it makes you want to purchase everything in the shop. Just to see the magic flowing through her arms. "The Fastest Zapper in the West," the title perfectly compliments her name.
A truly beautiful stranger with an even prettier demeanor and attractive laugh, and she's not famous yet? Incomprehensible.
Just don't try to be sneaky and pay with tap, it creates turbulence with her flow :).
//Great clean truck stop, well priced products, even better employees. Making my cross country trip worth every mile. Thank you, Susanne, for the laugh...
Read moreFound this place back in February during a blizzard. We are so glad we couldn't go anywhere because we got to eat some amazing breakfast and drink delicious coffee. Today we stopped in for dinner on our way to the Fargo area. I got the bacon jam burger and the husband got the sliced prime rib on sourdough.... FANTASTIC!!!! We can't say enough good things about this place. All the people are friendly and the food is phenomenal.. May 14th 2023 we came in around 630pm for dinner- don't think we will be back. Waitress brought us water never asking us for a drink order, I asked a question about a sandwich and her answer was "I don't know". Husband ordered spaghetti pie and came with salad (lettuce, slice of tomato and a lot of onion) and I ordered a burger that was missing the bacon and the fries were not even room temperature. Told the older waitress and she brought me a dessert. I didn't ask for it nor did I want it. I was still charged for the fries I didn't touch. We made a point to be at this truck stop because every other time it was fantastic. Food was poor and so was...
