Great place to eat any meal! Been eating there it seems forever. Used to take my Grandsons there in Saturday mornings when both were in grad school. Now the oldest - Wyatt 21 graduates from college next month. The youngest will be in 2nd year College in the fall. Anyway Tina, the owner always remembers her regulars favorites and you'll never have an empty coffee cup. Tina always makes customers feel at home and you get to eat off of plates with silver no paper and plastic. Even though the place is always busy at regular meal times with full anything breakfast items and daily delicious lunch and dinner specials you won't wait long if at all. Oh, and for John Deere affectionate, Tina is "Wacky" over JD ANYTHING! Bring her something and she will be happy to display it. This is an old fashion good place to eat, and you are just about guaranteed to meet a neighbor or see someone you know sitting at a table next to you or nearby. You know it's a good place to eat, when Roxboro and Persons finest and bravest, as well as NC State Highway Patrol eat there! They always know where they get the best and the most for their money! Try it, you'll love it, but don't tell anyone or you'll ruin one of the best kept secrets in the county!...
Read moreAfter seeing good reviews on Open Kettle l, I hate leaving a bad one but it was awful. We arrived at 10:00 am and they were closing at 11 am. We were seated and drinks were brought immediately We then proceeded to wait 15 mins for our waitress to come to take our order. 3 different women were walking around in a restaurant where most people were either finished eating or getting up to leave. We finally got our order placed (gravy biscuit and Hash browns and fried eggs/toast/bacon) nothing complicated. It took 40 mins to get our food and it was room temp when it came out(my gravy had skin on top). We felt like we had to eat rushed since they were closing.
I have worked in multiple restaurants and can't understand how it took so long and why they treated us like we were putting them out to serve us. It is a cute restaurant and I have to think that had the food be brought right out after...
Read moreWe went here after hearing it was a good place to eat. Save your time and money. We go in & are seated, the waitress does her job. There looks to be a salad bar yet no lettuce. The waitress assures me that there is salad greens and proceeded to bring out a barely full bowl of tired, wilted green stuff. What am I supposed to do with that?! So we finished our meal & went to pay only to be told it's a CASH ONLY restaurant. I ask where the sign saying such is & the lady moved aside & showed a beat-up, unnoticeable note saying "no credit/debit cards". One person had to leave & find an ATM(they didn't have one there) while the other sat there. I have been to cash-only places before, everywhere you look is a sign with the bold words, "CASH ONLY". So, yeah....
