One star is too much, but it's the only way I could access the description. So translate the one star to 1/4 star based on the shocking fact that this dive is in operation at all. I've had Chinese food in most states in the U.S. Like the previous reviewer, I'm not expecting Roxboro Chinese food to align with the quisine of major cities. However, this type of chinese "fast food" can be found, same menu, same pics of food, same basic set up, in many cities throughout the U.S. This place actually started out pretty good. However, overtime they started chipping away at the quality of the food. A phenomena that is characteristic of Roxboro restaurants. In this case, they stopped giving free fortune cookies with the meals. Not a big deal, it's just a novelty gesture anyway, but indicative of other ways they sought to cheat the public of quality food and service: chicken fried rice had no veggies, barely had chicken and the chicken was not cooked, moo shoo pork was spoiled, pancakes microwaved to glue paste consistency and stuck together, sauce also spoiled and obviously kept past throw out date. Once, the won ton soup burned my mouth because it was heated to scalding in the microwave. I completely understand why so many customers would opt to keep the inedible takeout rather than drive all the way back to town to return it -- it takes time. Until the experiences listed above, I didn't bother to return their horrible meals either. But this, I simply could not let go. I spit the half cooked, terrible chicken back into the container, gathered the rest of the spoiled "food" and took it back. Of course the female owner tried to argue, stating that of all the people who eat there, I was the only one who complained...blah, blah, I refused to back down. It's the principle at this point: Your service is substandard and your food is inedible, which equates as an insult to paying customers. You want the money but you don't want a fair exchange of goods of services for the money. To the public: Quit accepting the declining service and quality of goods and services or businesses will continue to exploit us. I will never eat at this grotto again. Take the food back if it isn't up to industry par bc they're charging industry prices --- no matter how much trouble it is to return it. This place should be shut down, but since food inspectors make appointments, they are more than likely prepared to pull the wool. I was prepared to stand outside at the entrance and picket if the stone faced owner did not return my money. She relented only after a male owner told her to give up the fight. Eat there at your own risk: the main risk being that people like these business owners will continue to charge high prices for garbage service and garbage food if we, the public, do not take a stand against it. Read moreOk reason as follows for only one Star. You can order one certain dish from this place five days in a row and get something different tasting each day. They are not at all consistent with what they prepare. Also they don't listen, I asked about an order asking them if it had mushrooms in it. They assured me there was no mushrooms however once at home I open the Hunan Beef only to find it's loaded down with mushrooms even after I told them I hated mushrooms and will not eat anything that mushrooms are in. So I let them know about their error thinking at least they would remake the order and set things straight. Was I ever wrong girl at the register didn't seem to care one bit about it. So I placed another order of 3 orange chicken dinners with steamed rice only to discover once again they didn't listen and all 3 orders were wrong once again. So I can't get food from here anymore because after you tell them they messed up they aren't willing to make it right. Oh people please don't respond to me and say there is a language barrier because the girl at the register was a young white high school girl that understood every word this hillbilly...
Read moreI am updated my review. The female that takes your order is very, very, very, RUDE to customer that are Black. I have witness twice on how RUDE she is. She does her darndest to ignore them example the other day "she turns to the white man and just simply skip over the black man, once the black spoke up the white man said no, please you were here first. Do you know she just ignore that statement and was insistent on helping the white and not the black man". This is so rude and very disrespectful. It saddens me as the man (owner) and two other employees that are the work horse behind this deliciousness food are very friendly, they put damn good food out, very authentic, reasonably priced 😋I just don't care to see her at the register and being rude and deliberating mistreating the Black customers. Money doesn't discriminate. So, my question is why this little lady fill the need to be discriminator...
