This place has definitely changed for the better. Pre-COVID, the restaurant offered great Sunday brunches but the dining menu catered more to the 60+ crowd, basic meat dishes with sides of standard vegies or potatoes.
Now, the bar is hopping with a youthful vibe and the menu has been updated for modern tastes, including sushi. The side tables we sat across from the bar was perfect for conversation. Plenty of booths available if one chooses to dine in privacy on a Friday night. They have an outside fire pit which is perfect during a cold night, if one can sip on a brandy after dinner. (haven’t asked)
The app of Burrata Flatbread was amazing. So much better than the Whiskey Lounge.
I had the rib rack with waffle fries and a side of Adult Mac and Cheese. Salt Creek wasn’t kidding when they said it was meant for adults because it was the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. The level of depth of diff varying cheese was so rich and amazing that no words can describe it. You have to sample this dish to realize you’ve reach Macaroni and Cheese nirvana. The waffle fries were amazing as well. No homemade ketchup needed because the Asiago cheese and garlic was perfect and did not need any condiment to destroy its harmony. The rib rack was a full set and perfectly priced at around mid 30s. The meat was tender and was pulled with ease using a fork.
My wife had the filet mignon served rare and she was content.
Definitely worth a trip if you are in the neighborhood.
I can’t wait to try their burger, (Ground Short Rib, Chuck & Brisket, Arugula, Aged White Cheddar, House Spread, Caramelized Onion & Bacon Jam, Brioche Bun) If executed perfectly to a medium rare: this burger...
Read moreWe have been to Salt Creek Grill in Rumson numerous times as we live locally. We rave about the brunch and often bring friends. Bring our parents for dinner and it has never disappointed us. However, today it took a turn for the worse and I do not believe we will ever return. We came for brunch around 1pm. Most of the hot buffet was cold, specifically the biscuits and homefries. That's fine, we dealt with it. Then when we walked around some more our feet were sticking to the floor. Much how my feet used to stick to the floor at a fraternity party. Our table, also sticky. Yet we were even upset about the table because as two hostesses sat and chatted we watched 1 lady clean and bus our table (which was previously set up for a very large party) all by herself. Carrying chairs and everything as many just watched. Lastly the worst thing of all. As we were waiting for our car, my Fiance said "I will never come back here again, I just went into the bathroom and as I was washing my hands a waiter walked out of the stall and then walked right out" Ill make it more clear, a waiter, sat in his stall in the men's restroom for some time and exited without washing his hands to go handle EVERYONES FOOD. I marched back inside to speak to the manager. I told him what happened, his response was "OK" I told him he should maybe have a discussion with his staff as that is so foul and he responded "OK, I will" and that was it and he let me walk out without ever apologizing. Sad for them as I was considering the location for my bridal shower and now I WOULD NEVER subject my guests to that. DISGUSTING. Even more disgusting...
Read moreFantastic brunch! We've had brunch here a couple times and each time it's great. With a turkey breast and prime rib station, fish and crab entrees, french toast, pastas and breakfast meats are the normal food at the hot station. Each is really good and with all the fixings needed like syrup or gravy. There is another area that has the cold shrimp, fish, lox, juicy fresh fruits, bagels, breads, chips and salsa and lots more. The dessert area is the first thing you will see when you enter the restaurant, the desserts are placed on dishes near the entrance, each one is delicious and worth sharing with someone so you can try them all.
All of the staff we have ever had was very friendly and smiles. There is a lot of room and most brunches are busy but not packed so you don't have to wait in long lines. Inside is always clean and the view out onto the water is great and make the place feel very airy and open. Not many people bring babies but some due, there are smaller birthday parties and such in here so you could also do the same.
I've eaten dinner here once and it was really good. A bit on the pricey side but worth it. The meat and salads are worth trying here. I would suggest brunch to everyone however they did recently change the mimosas, it used to be unlimited and now it's the first is free then $1 after, not sure why they changed that but it worth mentioning as $35 for brunch is on...
