Went on a Friday night for dinner, seated very quickly in the dining room, wasn't super busy. Our waitress came over to get our drinks and I could tell immediately she wasn't the friendliest of servers. We had a party of 6, we ordered 1 appetizer thinking since it wasn't that busy it would be pretty quick. Wrong. 35 minutes went by before we got it, and maybe if in that 35 minute time frame the waitress came over once to check on things, ask if we needed refills or anything for that matter it wouldn't have made me as mad as it did. I ended up asking the girl with the glasses behind the counter for 3 refills which she got for us no problem, it also irritated me due to the fact that the table that was next to us had the same waitress, and if I had to guess I'd say she was at that table at least 4 or 5 times getting them their food etc, while we awaited our appetizer, so one would think she could check on our table as we were right there, once again, wrong. When our food came out it was just ok. My daughters french toast was barely warm so she didn't even want to eat it. I would've been ok with the food being as lackluster as it was had the waitress not irritated me with her crappy attitude/service. My opinion would be is to out her behind the counter and have the girl with the glasses be a server, at least she was friendly. Most likely will not be back for...

Good food. Cooked to the way you order the food. Good service, the waitress came to the table 4 times to check on us. It was great. Old fashioned but good food and service.

Had breakfast for the first time at the Beacon. I add pancakes and bacon with hot tea and a glass of milk. My pancakes were big and fluffy. The bacon was cooked perfectly. Great service. My husband's had creamed chipped beef on white toast. He said that it was the best meal he has ever had. And he orders that everytime he is out for breakfast. He told me that his scrapple was fantastic. We will definitely be going back for breakfast again. 9/21/24 An early (7am) morning breakfast. We wgere served right away. Coffee and tea served right away. Order taken. The food came, most of the order was wrong. I asked for my toast dry, it came with butter on it. I asked for home fries and the order came with hash browns. When I told the waitress she argued with me that I did order the hash browns (I never would, I hate them). I received the home fries and they where drowning in oil. We ended up leaving the restaurant with most of the food left on the plates. As we where leaving I HEARD THE WAITRESS TELLING THE OTHER WAITRESSES AND THE COOK ABOUT THE FOOD WE LEFT ON OUR PLATES !!!! We are now really thinking of never...

Wednesday 3/9/2016 We have this rating because of the following: The diner on the booth side was full, which is not huge. That was no problem. We were seated I. The dining room which was empty besides one other table of two people. We had 3 people in our party. The couple that was in there already were extremely aggravated! We were like oh great that's not a good sign. We stayed anyway. One of us ordered a turkey club on crossiant. One ordered a burger and cup of soup. Which both meals came with a bag of chips and a pickle spear. The last was a cup of soup and creamed chipped beef over toast with home fries with EXTRA ONIONS. We waited 50 minutes to be served. Then there were NO onions at all in the home fries. The soup was good but not hot it was less than room temperature. They were told about no onions in he home fries at all when the order was placed with extra. The waitress kept apologizing about the wait. Over and over again to any other customer in the diner. She said they were jam packed. They absolutely were not and this was at 2pm in the afternoon. There were a lot of empty tables. And other than the soup the food was less than adequate. If a chef can't handle a 1/4 full diner they need a new chef. As well as one that can cook. We will...

The Thanksgiving Day sandwich was the best I ever tasted. Even better then my own! Real Turkey, not deli meat. Stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce. I used a fork & knife! We will be back in a few weeks for another one. If I lived closer it would be weekly I’m sure! My husband always gets breakfast & loved his meal also! The second visit wasn’t as good as the first visit. We as usual we’re not giving the two minute check back because I would have loved some more cranberry sauce & a side of gravy. The waitress didn’t ask if everything was ok, didn’t check on us at all! Never asked if we would like anything else, just left the check when we were done. Not friendly at all! The women who sat us & took our drink order & set us up with place settings & was super nice & was sorry the tip was left for the waitress that didn’t want to be there! I was a waitress & we worked for our tips, maybe she didn’t need extra? So sad that waitresses forget why they are working or who they are working for!

I’ve been going past this place for years and we finally made the stop in before going to Hometown market. We wanted salty and sweet so we tried the Hometown Hero which comes with your choice of pancakes or French toast, two eggs, home fries or hash-browns, two bacon or sausage, toast and your choice of coffee or juice all for $15. We also tried the chorizo hash and French toast. All the food was hot and delicious and the server was very friendly. We would definitely like to come back and try lunch and dinner.

If you are looking for a great "diner" experience, stop by the Beacon. I had the Beef Burgundy, a huge portion in a rich burgundy sauce along with mushrooms served pipping hot. I asked for it cooked Medium and the beef was cooked Medium. My meal included two sides (large portions). I choose their Macaroni and Cheese and a side of broccoli. My wife ordered the Chicken and Broccoli in a white wine garlic sauce, again served hot and delicious.
