Although I have eaten takeout before and the food was always quality- never did me and my girlfriend go there for dine in experience. Was highly disappointed and felt very discriminated (interracial couple). We walked in to the hostess stand where the hostess was standing behind the podium speaking to a co worker. She made eye contact with me and after her conversation was over with her co worker (no longer than 2-3min) she didn’t even attempt to greet us. Walked back to the kitchen and came back out 4-5 min later- still didn’t greet us and returned to the kitchen. After about 7-8 minutes we were greeted by another server who told us she would get someone out to seat us. Then returned the hostess and her first words to us “ We are very busy let me see if we can get a table together for you two”. After about another 3 minutes she “found a table” (which was an empty table no one was seated at in the room to the left of the hostess).
We were happy to be seated. Another ten min went by and there were 3 other tables in the room. The server popped out to check on all 3 tables (two of the tables checked on twice) and we still couldn’t manage to even get a beer or water yet. After about 15 min of being seated we got up and left as we hadn’t gotten chance to order anything anyways. I hate to give a 1 star rating but had we not been treated like outsiders I would be willing to give 2 or 3 stars. We drove 20 minutes to Timothys Bar and Grill in Exton, PA and they had a full parking lot as well. Seated within two minutes- received our drinks and appetizers within 5 minutes and were even greeted and checked on.
I still can’t quite comprehend this but it’s hard to believe as paying and tipping customers we were treated so poorly.
Hope management sees this and corrects it. I’m couldn’t imagine that’s why Harry’s was established especially after being told by many neighbors it was “one of the best in...
Read moreWorst experience in a long time. Wife and I sat on the patio for dinner. Order #1 Water, Broiled Flounder & Tossed Salad Order #2: Fountain soda, Queen Cut Prime Rib (cooked medium) & French Onion Soup First Issue: Waitress brought Flounder, Salad and Prime Rib to table and stated the soup would be out in a moment, I told waitress to cancel the soup since I do not eat my meal and soup together. Second Issue: Prime Rib was well done not medium. Third Issue: Waitress never stopped by our table for the rest of the meal... not to ask how the meal was or if we wanted refills on our drinks. Fourth Issue: "Hostess" just dropped the check off at out table with out asking about the meal of if we wished anything else... just stated "Here is your check". Fifth Issue: Still had charge for soup on the bill. Sixth Issue: I walked into the main restaurant and saw our waitress and asked to see the manager, owner or someone in charge. Suprise.... no manager, owner or person in charge on the premises, but they will text the manager. Told waitress and other personnel that this was the worst dinning experience I've had (okay... in reality it was the second worst, and I eat out at many restaurants due to travel for work). I asked to have the soup charge taken off my bill. Seventh Issue: Waitress stated she was sorry but was so busy with table in the "front" of the restaurant. Problem with that statement was she was at three other tables not far from our table while we ate. Eighth Issue: Staff couldn't figure out how to redo check to remove the soup, but in the waitress's defense she provided cash as a refund. I have been to this restaurant three other times without issue, but due to the way the staff seemed to conspire, lack of management, and lie, I WILL...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Harry’s for 30 years—my dad used to bring me here in a car seat! Every time I visit from South Carolina, this is the first place I go. Unfortunately, my recent experience left me absolutely astonished, and not in a good way.
While dining with my in-laws, my mother-in-law informed our server that she was allergic to beef when inquiring about a menu item. She decided to order the chicken nachos, but when they arrived, they had chili on them—an ingredient not listed on the menu. We immediately informed our server, who said she’d ask if the nachos could be remade. She returned to tell us they couldn’t.
We then requested that the nachos be taken back, as my mother-in-law couldn’t eat them due to her allergy. To our shock, the server told us we would still need to pay for them. When I spoke to the server about the issue, I asked to speak with the manager. The manager’s response was baffling—they seemed completely confused as to why we were asking for the item to be removed from the bill and proceeded to hassle us over this simple, reasonable request.
The table next to us even commented on how poorly the situation was handled—they could hear the entire interaction. After 30 years of loyalty and introducing Harry’s to countless friends and family, my heart is broken by how service like this could be allowed to happen. It’s disappointing to see such a decline in the level of care for customers. I never thought I’d say this, but this experience makes me question if I’ll...
