I'll just start by saying that I have Celiac disease and wanted to check this place out as I'd heard that they had gluten free options. I did not disclose this to anyone, as I shouldn't have to talk about my disease, especially when the menu seemed to point out GF options. I also don't seem to have a problem with shared equipment with my food preparation, so I just choose from menus based on what I know is naturally gluten free or is specified. I ordered Buckwheat waffles (specified GF on the menu), seasoned home FRIED potatoes, and bacon. We get the food and the waffle was just straight-up cold. Butter didn't melt on it at all. I ate half. I'm eating these potatoes and I start to realize there's like, a crust on them, and little fried pieces of non-potato. We ask the waitress if these potatoes have something on them and were informed they were tossed in flour, salt, and pepper!!! I have never in my life seen home fried potatoes with ANYTHING but seasonings and oil. I was horrified as I'd already eaten half of them. I thankfully pointed this out to my mother who also has Celiac and had also gotten the potatoes. If you want to tout about having gluten free options, you need to make a separate gluten free menu on it's OWN or mark whether each item is GF. I never would have guessed that fried breakfast potatoes would be anything but POTATO! Looking at this menu, is the "FRIED" in all capital letters supposed to indicate something? It's a shame because the atmosphere is amazing and it smells great in there. But, a quick glace at the menu should be simple. A misunderstanding, yes. But, like I said, I shouldn't have to come into a restaurant and let everyone know I have a disease and need walked through the menu. We don't want to be made to feel like we need help to eat. There was a mini-menu on the table that showed alternatives, but it wasn't like a menu for ordering a full meal. I feel like a separate sub-menu somewhere on the regular menu would solve this problem. This...
Read moreThis new family restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere opened on the south side of Saegertown in February 2021. It has a traveler's decor complete with world map wall hanging, globe themed light shades, and other unique items. It is nicely lit with LED lighting that is not overpowering. The space is wide open with no sound dampeners but not overly noisy. The place was busy with people regularly coming in replacing those who had left so it wasn't crowded.
I ordered The Atlas at a $13.00 price tag but it came with a lot of food. The only negative was there were barely any hashbrowns on my plate for that price tag. The locally roasted coffee was $2.00 for unlimited refills and the friendly wait staff were on top of keeping my coffee filled.
They also have a counter where you can order your favorite coffees, lattes, and other hot drinks as well as freshly made pastries.
I recommend this new eating establishment and will be returning myself in the...
Read moreWe arrived to have lunch shortly after noon on 4/17/2021. The place really wasn't that busy. We sat ourselves and we were promptly greeted at our table by our waitress who took our drink orders. She was not very friendly or helpful and didnt really seem like she cared about being there. I orded the lamb gyro and ff and my buddy orded the 505 burger and ff. So, right off the bat food cost does not mean that your going to get a decent portion. Portions were small and inconsistant (my buddy got twice the amount of ff as i did for the same cost of $3.50). Now how is it you order a burger and get charged an additional $1.50 for the bun when the burger was already $9.00 and on the menu it says choice of cheese but what it didnt say was that, that choice was another $.50. All in all for that meal plus 2 drinks our bill for lunch was $30.72 without the tip. I probably...
