The Basement Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Sagamore Hills Township

May want to rethink coming here for a larger party! We called ahead to see if they could accommodate a party of 13 and were told they had a table open for us. They had a nice area reserved so we could all sit in the same section. They also had a large catererd event next to us. The issue was the food took too long to arrive. We arrived at 7:15, orders placed by 7:30 and no food for an hour (actually longer). We were told the large catered event unexpectedly were placing individual orders. If you couldn’t accommodate a party if 13 then just be honest and tell us when we called. We were seated next to the catered event and never saw individual orders, it was all buffet which should have been planned ahead of time. The wait was not what we expected but that is on the kitchen and poor planning. The real issue was Tracy the waitress. Unfortunately, she allowed her frustration to show and that is out of line and uncalled for. When you are in the service industry (and most of us were at some point in our lives) you show a little empathy and kindness you don’t snap comments at customers and eye roll. We could handle the issue being the fault of the kitchen and poor planning for a catered event but the attitude from the waitress was uncalled for. It’s a shame because we have been there at other times and enjoyed the food and never had a service issue. Not sure how this place is on the weekends, however I assume the bar night life is pretty good like most of the other basements I have been do .

I go their for lunch and although the food and service is generally very good. They have one bartender handling the whole place and she can only do so much. Took 30+ minutes to get food (hard to do during a lunch break) and this has happened a number of times. Also, there seems to be a crowd of of younger guys their often who seem to be loud, rude, obnoxious, drunk etc. during lunch. Makes you feel embarrassed for the families, older couples who are trying to get some mid day lunch.

Unfortunately, this location has not been able to successfully transition for the sports bar/nightclub feel into a decent lunch spot like some of their local competitors. Food is fantastic which is why it's 3 stars - however you are better off getting picking up food from them or getting it...

There was a band playing there. It was standing room only. The management did not staff accordingly. Since the place was packed, every 10 minutes or so, I took it upon myself to let her know where I was and that I was still waiting for my food. After the fifth time, the server told me that my food had been delivered "a long time ago" yet I never saw it. She asked another sever where it was. The other server went to the back and came out with my food. The meat had the consistency of rubber. I did not eat it, though I tried. It was very unappetizing. The management there needs to either hire more people or not have a band play if they cannot accommodate the needs of their guests. Also, the original server was not very nice to me when I started asking for my food. I didn't start until an hour had passed...
