Ok I get a kick out of some of the reviews🤣🥴 This is a great place if you’re not in a hurry. The place has a rich history and the hotel is sweet. Like any where if you like swank you can spend that here too. The hotel rooms can get pretty expensive.

All the staff I’ve ever met except for one lady who was very nice to me.

They cater to the hotel guest. I close on some property overlooking the hotel and stayed here during the closing. Now I come down here and swim get a Bite a drink and a NAP!!!😴 They take care of me here and treat me well.. It’s a slow burn here and the vib says it.. Food could be better but look they got Mayra!!!! I mean you read about her but when you meet her you will understand or your just to needy 🤣😂

Thank you Buccaneer hotel I can truly say I’ll be swimming here the rest of my...

Would not recommend. We arrived at 12:20 and the restaurant was not busy at all. Ended up getting our food (1 app, 1 fish sandwich, 1 virgin cocktail) 30mn later. I would normally don’t care but we happened to have to be somewhere else at 1:30. Dessert menu looked appealing but we did not order fearing it would take another 30mn. Food was alright but overpriced. I ordered conch fritters ($17 for 5 small fritters) and my husband ordered a mahi burger ($20 for subpar fries and dry looking bun). The open kitchen makes it loud when you sit on the deck. The staff was friendly enough but service wasn’t outstanding. I also think the fact that sending the waitstaff refill water and send food to guests on the beach contributed to the slowness or the service. The view was nice however and the Virgin pina...

We came to The Mermaid during lunch hour. Even though we had reservations they weren't busy at all. We were seated right away next to the beach. Their menu had plenty of options to choose from salads, sandwiches to burgers. I didn't order a regular meal since I wasn't too hungry but, I did order the Conch Friters appetizer with a Mango Smoothie. The Friters are basically radish sprouts with cilantro aioli. It was ok.

My bf, on the other hand, ordered a burger with fries and the portion was quite big. He didn't end up finishing everything, although, he looked content.

Overall, the food and service was ok. Our waitress came by a few times but, it didn't have the same welcoming vibe nor the same level in taste of the food as the other restaurants we've been to...
