New ownership review: Lunch time visit. My husband was greeted with HOLA. Umm ok? Hello. He was told they were under new ownership for a couple months now. June 1. The menu is different now. This is not the same place. No more pasta or potato salad sides. They offer empanadas now- which I hear are delicious. The bread is not so bready and huge but more hallowed out like a thinner sub bread. The toppings/ingredients are plenty more. The only issue is the mayo- thereās way too much making the sandwich have a mayo dressing against the cucumbers lettuce tomatoes etc. was not a fan. Next time will ask for no mayo. My kid ended up not eating his sandwich because of it. I would take that out of the menu completely. Offer it as an extra/ask the customer if they want any condiments added. Overall, still a great spot just a little different now.
1st review a year ago: Tucked away in the hustle and bustle of the industrial businesses on the edge of town is the American Grinders. My family and I really enjoy this coffee shop. We usually get it delivered, but when we have time we go in and dine in. They also have a drive-thru.
This is a great spot for breakfast and lunch. Perfect for the workday. Come starving leave full and satisfied.
Orders: Peaches and cream smoothie, turkey bacon, avocado grinder 6 inch on regular bread guts in, tuna melt on sourdough, monte cristo, American club, BLT, sides, Mac salad, pasta salad, potatoes salad, seasonal iced latte/coffees. The prices range from $2.75 to around $12.
The sandwiches are humongous. You can get the guts in or guts out. The ingredients are fresh. The flavors are mild. The customer service is excellent. The ladies that work there are very sweet and hard-working. Our orders are always so quick. I totally recommend anyway...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been coming to this place for years and have had many great experiences. Itās been a go-to spot for me to bring my grandparents, wife, kids, parents, and coworkers. The food has always been good, and though itās not the cheapest option, the portions were generous, and the service was friendly. However, my recent visits have been mixed.
In the past, the wait times could be a bit long, especially during busy hours, but I always felt the food was worth it. However, a few visits over the last couple of years made me hesitant to return. For example, on one occasion, my wife and I waited nearly 50 minutes for a Reuben sandwich. While I understand that mistakes happen, the extended wait time was frustrating, especially since the restaurant wasnāt busy at the time.
Another visit involved ordering through the drive-thru. I left a tip as I always do, but the wait was again longer than expected, and I found myself eating on the go, which wasnāt ideal. Despite these challenges, the staff has always been polite and pleasant.
I did give it one more try, hoping the issues were just a fluke. While the service has generally improved, the wait times can still be longer than expected, and the quality of the food isnāt always consistent.
That said, Iāve noticed some improvements recently, and I hope they continue to work on these areas. The staff remains kind, and I believe in supporting local businesses, so Iām giving them 4 stars. I look forward to seeing them continue to improve and hopefully, in the future, I'll be able to confidently give them 5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a hidden gem!! I met Gabriel the new owner this morning as I was looking for a good coffee and something for breakfast and he did not disappoint! The coffee is some of the best Iāve ever had and probably the best cup of joe in St. George and thereās some good ones! I ended up getting a coconut white mocha with three shots of espresso that definitely carried me all day. I ordered a large breakfast burrito, which was delicious and included sausage, eggs and cheese, and he gave a side of salsa and also a side of his homemade chimichurri, which was incredibleā¦.. but the secret weapon here was a homemade empanada that his wife baked and he let me sample one while I was waiting for my breakfast burrito to be made and honestly it was one of the best things Iāve ever tasted! Next time Iāll grab two of those to go along with my coffee. The location is off the beaten path in the industrial section of River Road, but well worth the drive. I live over in the desert color neighborhood and we donāt have any coffee over there so if anyone is reading this review that lives there, itās just a quick 3 or 4 miles away off of Southern Parkway on the river road exit and itās gonna be...
