Barbosa's — Restaurant in Saint Joseph

first of all I have to say that the service was phenomenal the young man that took care of us today was impeccable I'm his customer service. That being said the tea tasted old the guacamole had a weird Tang to it and a very off-color you could not even taste the avocado in it at all and it was so spicy you can barely eat it and that's coming from someone who loves hot food. the taco was great but the taco meat had an off taste to it that I can't even begin to describe it was bland and the meat was just boring. the tamales were phenomenal absolutely love them great consistency great texture just the right amount of moisture can't say enough. However, the enchiladas were completely dry no sauce whatsoever the cheese was so tough that my husband could not even chew it is very very disappointing. this is the first time that we have had this kind of an experience they're always loved barbosa's love the food and love the people but today was a severe let down. the other thing that really bothered me was the fact that the beans and rice were just plain pinto beans absolutely no flavor completely blah I I would have preferred refried beans but would have been okay if the pinto beans had some kind of flavor was just overall very boring. I really hope That they pick up the quality so that we can come back and enjoy...

This place always has good food….but the service these past few years have been absolutely TERRIBLE. I’m a regular here and have frequented this place for probably over 20 years. The same lady that answers the phone always has a bad attitude and poor customer service. Tonight I ordered through DoorDash. I literally order the same thing every time I come to them. They don’t have an option for me to tailor my order on DoorDash and won’t add what asked to have added so I called to tell them this and yet she tells me to add it on DoorDash. They know exactly who I am and how often I’m there. There have been quite a few times that my order is wrong and yet I don’t bother them….yet they make me pay almost $4 over the phone just to add some cheese to my order. Then let the dasher walk out without the cheese even though I told her it was a DoorDash order. I understand they have a business to run and things cost money but this is super ridiculous considering they used to not be like this at all. I’m not sure if who I speak to is the owner or manager but I bet this is the last time they get my money again. I hate to say that because literally I LOVE their tacos but Taco Bell, Taco John’s, Abuelardos, the franchises that aren’t locally owned, don’t treat me...

My wife and I were hungry been out all day at Doctors appointments and decided to get something to eat at Barbosa;s. I had 3 enchilada's, tostada and red pork chile and a Mt dew. my wife had the Barbosa's combo plate and a sweet tea. The chips that they brought us were cold and when she asked for sour cream instead of salsa our waitress didn't want to bring out the sour cream but she did anyway. Every time my wife asked her a question it was like why are you talking to me. The waitress's name was Kim T when I asked her a question she was like oh ya I will do anything for you attitude. This is very unacceptable. No matter who asks the question it should be sure no problem not based on sexually orientation. I am deaf in 1 ear and going blind in both eyes and my wife was only being helpful to me. What was really bad is we had to ask for silverware before we could eat. I will say Kim T did help sack up our to go boxes. Barbosa's just lost 2 customers we will never come back.
