River Rock Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Saint Louis

This was our 4th time here and was looking forward to it as it has been good, hot food for the price and friendly service. Tonight is a Friday night so we expected it to be a bit busier. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated, not bad. Got to our table, served our drinks again, not bad. Placed our order and ordered a sampler platter, 30 minutes later I had to ask the waitress how the sampler platter was coming along, let me check, she said. Within 5 minutes our platter arrived, HOT AND YUMMY. We waited another 35 minutes for our meals, my food was cold and no reheating could have helped. The hubby's food..he got the Friday night fish, cold mashed taters, gooey gravy and dried out salmon. To the point he used the cold gravy on the fish(that is dry) We asked for to go containers, no problem there, complained a couple times to the waitress,understanding it is not all her fault. Before we got our food we placed a to go order as well. She brought us the the bill, I asked how the to go order was coming along, let me check. She came back with the to go order, I asked what the charge was at the bottom of the bill...she says, oh, that's the to go charge for the container. She gave me a puzzled look, I looked at her and said, cold food, hour and half wait for cold food..perfect. she said have a nice night and was sorry. Not impressed...

A couple of friends and I were on our way home from Frankenmuth, looking fir a place to eat dinner. River Rock came up in our google search. We almost didn’t go in due to a bad review on google from earlier that day. But due to their over all score, the outside looking Nice and clean, and being very hungry we decided to go in. We are so glad we did! This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! I ordered the surf and turf special. Steak, shrimp, salad bar and the MOST AMAZING BREAD I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! (Sorry Grandma) The bread alone is worth the stop! Our experience was top notch from the service, cleanliness, the owner even cane over and talked to us a few times. She was very nice! You can tell she is passionate about making sure people have a great dining experience. The waitress was very nice, she even had to put up with a very rowdy, vulgar group at another table, but she handled them very well! I will be back and plan to tell others to stop here! After having bad service a few times I am finally writing a review. We recently moved to St.Louis. and river rock was highly recommended. I have gotten take out a few times and never had good service. The most recent time was I went in to pick it up and the wait staff ignored me for a solid 5 minutes. I'm talking walked right passed me several times and said NOTHING to me. I finally asked if I was going to be helped at which point the waitress said "uh sure scoffs pick up for Logan?" Then she said a whole 4 words to me after that for me to sign my receipt and take the food. Not even a have a good day. Also, the portions are pretty small for the price, in my opinion. I will not be back. I prefer to go to Blue Shamrock...
