Salem's Fresh Eats — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

Horrible horrible horrible service at the Salem's on 18th Avenue and 16th Street South St Petersburg. I waited for 45 minutes, only for them to not have my order ready. When I ask for my money back, they punch some keys into the system and never gave me a receipt to say that I got a credit back. When I advised them that there was a receipt to take the money why isn't there one to take it back. They said they don't give those. I don't know if I'll get my money back for an order that I never placed or not. But don't bother......... 5/23/21, tried going back to give it another chance. Went through the drive-thru order 2 fish sandwich combos both without mayo because I wanted to add tartar. I told the gentleman that upon placing the order he said okay. When I went to the drive-thru and ask for tartar sauce , he's asked for an additional $0.81. I explained that I asked for tartar sauce instead of mayo upon making order. You said okay. He then said that it's a dipping sauce so they charge extra. Even though I spent $21 for two fish sandwiches, that should include tartar sauce. He wanted to charge more money....I tried, This Salem's is a NO for me, the service just does not get better....PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT GO HERE. A MONTH AND STILL NO RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT?!? ABSOLUTE WORST FAST FOOD EXPERIENCE! FOUR minutes to even BE SPOKEN TO, and greeted with "are you ready to order?" I ordered a simple Philly combo...10 minutes into this and I see them put my order in the window. I politely ask one woman for it, she looks at it, looks at me and says "it'll be right out sir," smirks and walks away. I then turned on my video cam and have the manager on cam cussing out the kitchen for a 17-minute order (yes, I'm forwarding it to corporate--as this was my FIRST time there and will be my LAST). Literally, 20 people there gabbing, NOTHING getting done, so I ask for a refund and get nothing but lip while I WAIT for my refund. I am white...all 20 employees were not...I was NOT GREETED, EVER...ignored when I directly pointed to and asked for MY order, and then ARGUED WITH when asking for a refund. Reverse race card or not, I WILL NOT be back to that...

I went to Salem's for the first time today, with my son and his two children. We happened to be passing by, and my son wanted some chicken gizzards, so we stopped there for lunch. We went through the drive-thru, and the food was still warm when we got home. It all smelled so good, that it was hard not to sneak a few bites on the way, but somehow we managed. We each had the fried shrimp, fish (cod) and fries combo. It was absolutely delicious. I had some of the chicken gizzards, too, and they were amazing. There were ten huge shrimp and two large fish fillets, along with a generous helping of fries, in each of the combination meals. The sauces that they gave us were really well-made. The tartar sauce was good enough to eat with a spoon. Salem's has definitely been added to our list of places we'll return to often. We all really, really...
