Sam's Gyros and seafood — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

After reading reviews I was kinda excited to try this place. Thought it would be my next go-to amazing hole in the wall place to eat. The girl taking my order was friendly, nice, and just talkative enough to put a smile on my face. The establishment was big, lit well, and from the parts I saw, clean. the food though was lack- luster. I ordered a gyro/fry combo meal and a Philly steak sandwich. Everything was prepared fresh ( I assume because it took a while to get at the counter) but it tasted like nothing special. Couldn't even tell that the gyro had tzatziki sauce because it didn't taste like anything. The philly had a little more flavor but only because of the peppers and mushroom. The portion was ....well it wasn't small but it also wasn't big. The presentation was blah as well. I'm not posting a picture because honestly I think the picture looks worse than it tasted even though neither tasted special. The fries were hot and salted. They were the tastiest part of the meal. I feel like for the quality it could have been slightly cheaper by at least $1-2. There are tables to dine in but there isn't any real vibe. Definitely a take out place kinda like a McDonald's. Im pretty sure this is the first time I've ever done a review for anything food related. I wish this was a positive review, but unfortunately it's not. I got mozzarella sticks and boneless wings. Not only did the wings taste like cardboard but they have this smell I can't get rid of that makes me nauseas. The mozzarella sticks were nothing like the picture and the cheese didn't string out when you bit into one. They bit right in half like it was cheddar cheese. I hate to say this but I would have been happier with mcdonalds. I can't commit on the rest of the food but I'm happy I didn't try the seafood. I feel like I would have gotten food poison. Please take this review as constructive criticism and not a post of failure. But I have faith that whoever owns this establishment can use this to turn things around. Go back to the beginning when you opened and use that same motivation to change everything about this place. Ill stop back by in a month from now and see if anything...

About the worst food chain store ever. I ordered the special shrimp. When it came out, it was only 6 tiny shrimp. The advert they had on the Windows showed at least 10 shrimp. When I complained, the kid behind the counter tried to explain it by saying they'd run out of the special shrimp, and that this shrimp was a more expensive type of shrimp. I wanted to see a manager. They said the manager was only there until 6pm. I was shocked that the evening shift had no one managing them! I felt like they were lying, so I insisted on seeing the shift leader, who was the kid if been talking to. I said I wanted at least 10 shrimp, like in the pic on the advert. The kid try twenty ways to Sunday to explain his way out of it. He was livid when I also told him that the shrimp he'd presented were cold, and I wanted an all new platter.
