Sieberts Pub — Restaurant in Salem Lakes

My friend suggested this restaurant for great food - and yes, it's a pub, and yes, the food was great. We ordered the Ahi Tuna WonTon Nachos appetizer and it was superb. Real wasabi, not green powder! I ordered the Asian Ahi Tuna with roasted vegetables and wasabi mashed potatoes. When I return, I will order the appetizer as my main course. While the vegetables and mashed potatoes with the dinner were very nice, the appetiser was out of this world good and had far more interesting accompaniments. My husband had the Italian Beef, and said it was quite good. I nabbed a few of his fries and wow - they were great! He said next time he would like to try one of the many burger options. My friends ordered the Reuben Sandwich (unparalleled!) as he always does when they go there, and my other friend ordered the Prime Rib Quesadilla, which she said was okay but probably wouldn't order again. It was served with a nice horseradish sauce though. We went around 6pm on Wednesday and it was quiet. We had our choice of tables (FYI - the tall tables don't have backs on the chairs so sitter beware! ) I have no idea why this place was not packed. We did not order alcoholic beverages. Great pub with amazing food and service! Recently, we visited this pub because we had heard great things about the food and drinks. It was a great experience and we are looking forward to our next visit. We started with long islands which there are different varieties to choose from. I had the strawberry one and my husband had a cherry one. They were both great! We ordered the monkey fries, which we had heard about. These aren’t your average cheese fries! They arrive smoothers in cheese and huge chunks of bacon and a knife stuck in them to cut them. The fries came with two types of sauces - one was made with stout that had a Smokey flavor. The other dipping sauce had horseradish and was my favorite. The monkey fries were delicious! We probably should not have ordered sandwiches as the drinks and fries were plenty. I ordered the angus burger perfectly cooked with an amazing toasted bun. Hubby had the Italian beef that was dreamy. If you love the feel of a neighborhood place with good food and nice people, along with a beer or cocktail, try Sieberts Pub. We were greeted upon walking in the front door and directed to a table of our choice. The menu had a good variety of options from Bang Bang shrimp, burgers, pasta and fish tacos. Speaking of the Bang Bang Shrimp— it was the best I have had in years. Who would think a bar pub in small town Wisconsin could beat shrimp I have had in Florida gulf-side but it did. Large moist shrimp in a delicate batter with sauce drizzled across the piping hot pieces. The spaghetti and Meatball dinner was delicious and angus burger was a bit small but well cooked with lots of tomatoes and onions as ordered. Sweet potato fries were fresh cut into crinkled wedges and yummy. Overall the dining rooms were trendy and clean. We liked how they designed the cool decor in a 100+ year old building.
