I NEVER give bad reviews. Ever. I respect karma but I have to say, last night’s dinner was unbelievable. This is for my locals in Lake Ariel, PA.

My husband and I, along with our friends went to Palermo’s Italian for dinner, mostly for the convenience as it is right outside our neighborhood, The Hideout.

My husband and I had a meal there last year and we waited an hour for our food. We had a new server and well, stuff happens and we left it to being a one time incident.

We normally get take out pizza from Palermo’s and never had a problem.

Last night was an absolute 💩show. We ordered drinks and our meals and the salads came out no problem. After an hour we started noticing folks that arrived WAY after us were being served. Our server never checked on us, never checked on our food until we flagged her down to ask what was up.

She told us the printer that prints the orders stopped working but they were going to make our meals right away. This is after one hour. My husband and one of our friends ordered chicken parm, I ordered chicken francese and our other friend shrimp francese. My husband goes to the owner who apologized and said our first round of drinks was on them.

Okay, then another half hour later, still no food while everyone around us is still getting served. We tell them we are leaving.

Now get this crazyness. We have not seen our server. Another server who wasn’t even taking care of us tells us, “You leave and the server has to pay for your dinner”. Seriously. A server who NEVER checked on us, never checked with the kitchen to find out what happened to our order, never even brought out bread, nothing for us, never apologized but we are supposed to worry about that.

Our server brings out the two chicken parms. No dinner for me and our other friend. We wait. They are not bringing it out. At this point, we are all pretty livid. An hour and a half and half of our table has not been served.

I ask then to just package up my food. My husband asks the owner to comp the dinner. I would say that is pretty fair figuring the way we were treated. The owner only agrees to 20% off the bill.

I understand that servers get in the weeds and things happen that are out of their control but when the owner says he is comping 20% and getting the first round of cocktails (my friend had one additional glass of wine) for being ignored AND berated by his staff and trying to get our food for an hour and a half which I can only compare to getting your teeth extracted at the dentist, this is incredibly sad. Really, what was it to comping a meal for YOUR horrific service? Now you get a bad review on Facebook and a bad review on Google.

TRAIN YOUR STAFF Palermo’s! Train them to actually watch and take care of tables to make sure people are getting their food. Train your servers to apologize when they screw up and maybe have then bring bread out to the table. Something!

Zero stars.

Shout out to the one server that wasn’t taking care of us but apologized and checked in on our food and let the owner also know what was happening. You...

Title: A Frustrating Ordeal: A Disastrous Experience at Palermo's

My recent visit to Palermo's left me utterly disappointed and disheartened. The entire experience was marred by an excruciatingly long wait for our food, unresponsive staff, and an overall lack of management, prompting me to vow never to return to this poorly managed establishment.

Upon arriving at Palermo's, my party and I were greeted with a warm welcome and seated promptly. However, any glimmer of hope for a pleasant dining experience quickly evaporated as the minutes turned into hours without so much as a glimpse of our food. A two-hour wait is unacceptable by any standard, and no reasonable explanation was provided for the delay.

The lack of communication from the staff added to our growing frustration. When we inquired about our order's status, the servers seemed indifferent and offered no updates or reassurances. It was evident that the establishment was struggling to cope with the demand, but their inability to communicate the issue only intensified our disappointment.

The ambiance of Palermo's did little to alleviate our frustration. The atmosphere felt rushed and chaotic, with disorganized tables and noisy diners. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed and overwhelmed, leading to an unpleasant dining environment that was far from relaxing.

As our patience wore thin, we decided to cut our losses and leave without receiving our food. It was disheartening to walk out empty-handed and with no resolution to our ordeal. Not once were we offered an apology or any compensation for the extreme inconvenience we endured.

Palermo's clearly lacks effective management and proper customer service. Waiting for two hours without receiving a meal is inexcusable, and the lack of communication and empathy from the staff only compounded our dissatisfaction. Leaving without a meal and without any acknowledgement of the issue was the final straw, cementing my decision never to return.

In conclusion, my experience at Palermo's was nothing short of a disaster. The interminable wait, the disorganized atmosphere, and the complete lack of customer care all contribute to an establishment that falls woefully short of expectations. I urge others to think twice before considering Palermo's as a dining option, as there are undoubtedly better choices available where you can enjoy a stress-free meal without enduring such mismanagement and...

I’m extremely disappointed with the level of customer care and appreciation shown during my recent experience at Palermo’s Pizza Restaurant & Bar.

I placed a large takeout order over the phone totaling more than $200 for a small gathering with friends and family. I was quoted 45 minutes for pickup. To give them extra time, I arrived an hour later expecting my food to be ready. The staff was clearly overwhelmed, which I understand happens, but that doesn’t excuse what followed.

I believe the two individuals working the takeout counter and making pizzas were the owners — or at least they gave that impression. After waiting a bit, I noticed all 8 of my large specialty pizzas were done and sitting on top of the oven. One of the owners confirmed they were ready.

I politely asked the girl at the counter if the rest of my order — boneless wings, mozzarella sticks, and garlic knots — had been started yet. I offered to take the pizzas first and come back for the remaining items, knowing from experience in the restaurant industry that those items take less than 5 minutes to prepare. She checked with the kitchen and said it would be 5 more minutes, so I decided to wait.

After an additional 15 minutes and still no food, I asked for the pizzas so I could at least feed my guests. By the time I got back, they were lukewarm at best.

Not wanting to leave the party again, I called and kindly asked if they could deliver the remaining items due to the inconvenience. The girl asked the owner, and his solution was to charge me for delivery. That was insulting. I told them I’d come back myself but would no longer be a customer due to their lack of basic customer service. The response? “That’s fine.”

To make matters worse, when I returned to pick up the rest of my food, there was no apology — just a cold handoff.

While waiting earlier, I also witnessed a waitress repeatedly telling the owners to cancel items for several tables that had already walked out after waiting over two hours. They simply shrugged and carried on. That says everything you need to know.

I can’t support a business that only cares about money and shows zero regard for its customers. This review will likely fall on deaf ears, because it’s clear they...

Had a Pizza at the bar and hardly any cheese on it. It was so dark in the bar area it’s hard to see anything. We asked the bar lady to turn up the lights after checking with our neighbors on both sides of us st the bar and they agreed. But she insisted that the owner doesn’t like the lights up. Then some other people at the high table were asking for the lights to get turned up too. It’s so gloomy in there with a black bar top and dark wood behind the bar - we won’t be back. It’s a shame, you should learn to listen to the customers.

I requested light sauce on spaghetti. It was not light at all. Even the waitress stated that she "saw it was a lot." If she "noticed" the problem, then she should have spoken up to the kitchen. Chicken parm was very dry, overcooked, and tough. Salad was just wilted Iceberg lettuce with soggy cucumbers, onions, and over ripped cherry tomatoes. A complete embarrassment. The establishment appearance is nice, but their kitchen staff needs to be trained a bit more. Food is extremely overpriced. Over $20 for Chicken Parmigiano.

Man!!! Ever since I’ve moved to PA from NY I haven’t found a pizzeria that comes close to home. Tonight I took a shot and came to Palermo’s, man the moment I walked in I felt that vibe, the people with nothing but smiles, and the service through the roof!!! When the pizza came out I took a bite off the regular slice and it brought me back home both my wife and I said the same thing at the same time… “ITS OVA! We found our spot”… best choice tonight and will continue to come back…
