Speakeasy — Restaurant in Salina

Been coming here for 30+ years. I came when it was under a previous owner and name. I don’t live in Salina but we come back to visit family a bunch. The Speak has slowly declined over the years. More so in the last few. Tonight, August 2024, it reached its peak of pathetic service!! I don’t know the waitress’ name or the bartender’s, but Jesus H. Christ, they stink. This place was really awesome tonight. Hard to get a drink first of all. Waitress was worthless. 2 of 4 drinks ordered couldn’t be served because the bar was out of ingredients and the waitress didn’t know what was on tap. That wasn’t really the problem. The food was really the first problem. I ordered 12 boneless, served 18. Brother in-law ordered 6 bone-in wings, got 6 boneless. Group ordered chips and queso, came out stone cold. Sent it back, they nuked it, still came back cold in the middle. Sister got the mushrooms. They’re re okay but don’t waste your time and money. Wife got SW chicken egg rolls except they literally had no chicken. NONE. During this meal, we all went dry. Hard to get a second drink. Bonus time…Asked the waitress to split the check. My bill came out $40, my brother in law’s was $60. Is this the new math or is the waitress just flat stupid? Seriously, this place needs to get their s&it together. PS- we had to go to the bar for service at one point. The peckerwood at the bar is rude and acts like he’s doing you a favor. Dude, if you don’t want to help customers, get a different job. To start, the food here is amazing and I love the PB&J burger. The building is very nice and modern, and the bar area looks nice. The menu is nice and simple. Everything is easy to see and read. The prices are okay and the drinks are made very, very well! I honestly like this bar, but the service is hit or miss. I celebrated my 21st birthday here and had a great time! I wish I would've gotten a free drink though like other bars would do, but that's not a big deal.

There are times I get a friendly, fast bartender and sometimes I get someone who doesn't like to talk or is not keeping drinks at the table. This bar would be an easy 5 stars if it wasn't for some of the bartenders working there. Mike and the short-haired, tattooed lady do a fantastic job, I will update once I get the woman's name.

Furthermore, the jukebox here is way too quiet. Even when the place is pretty empty you can never really hear the music. Please, turn up the music especially once it gets busy! Others have said it can get too loud, but I think that only happens when the bar is full and...

Well I waited this long because we have come to this establishment at least 30 times over the past 2 years just to watch football games I gave it one star because the TV set up is excellent, but everything else is mediocre at the very best service seems to get works all the time very rude and unfriendly not welcoming staff at all make you feel like you're more of an inconvenience than a guest food is okay I guess but nothing I would write home to Mom about even for Bar food. Years ago this establishment used to be very friendly and welcoming that is definitely gone by the wayside, as I said the service and personality of the staff has gotten steadily worse but to top it off we came in to watch a football game on Christmas Day and they were absolutely rude snotty and crappy Behavior towards us and we will definitely not be back after today I work for a big company and I've had some of my co-workers say the same thing but the attitude of the staff is horrible and it definitely comes from the guy...
