La Michoacana Plus — Restaurant in Salinas

I have said this before, it's worth repeating: La Michoacana is a place you have to experience to appreciate. And they seem to always locate very close to a major highway. So, what is your excuse?

Salinas is the second La michoacana Plus I visited, very close to I-101. Like the other location, they have a crazy number of interesting flavors. By interesting, I mean they make you feel totally different from Baskin and Robins. They make you want to try - and many flavors are genuinely good and unusual. This time, we got to try three because we had three people. In addition, we also ordered a churro plate. Ice creams are all very delicious. Churros, so, so. Went with my sister for the first time when we showed up there was no one, after like 10 minutes of waiting the lady comes out the restroom but whatever, my sister ordered a vanilla raspado and it was basically pure ice, she barely put any vanilla so my sister nicely asked if she could put a bit more vanilla because it just tasted like ice and the lady rudely said “no, i already put what im suppose to put and if you want more you have to pay extra” my sister then told her that she had not added enough that it was just ice and she said “Pues es un raspado no es una agua fresca” that was so rude we just turned around and left. Very poor customer service! I walked in with my wife and kids and the employee started talking in Spanish, I replied sorry i don’t speak Spanish and she looked at me like i was crazy and refused to help me. The other employee came and spoke in English saying we don’t speak English. What?!? You just spoke English! She said sorry i don’t know what to say. I asked for a specific item that i know they serve and she said they don’t serve that item. For not knowing English she sure knows how to discriminate and refuse service to someone. I suggest the management or ownership gets some bilingual employees or this store will not last. As for now i will...
