So much for a local place... We arrived during breakfast time with a party of 6. When asking to put 2 tables together to accommodate, the waitress refused staying that they couldn't make it to the back tables - however, looking at the last out, this didn't make sense. There was clearly multiple paths to do so and, based on her comments, she obviously didn't want to seat a large table. We decided to separate our group instead of going elsewhere. My sister let our waitress know that we would take the 2 tables separately but she cwas snapped at by the server telling her that they weren't moving them together. We already understood this but the servers attitude was horrible.

We were seated before breakfast time ended however the waitress stayed behind the counter and with other guest for quite some time. We finally called one of the waitresses over to ask about breakfast since, due to the delay, the time had past based on their signage. Initially, she had say yes because we were seated before then she came back and told us no.

At this point, we were all a bit frustrated. But... We were hungry. My dad ordered their lunch special only to find out that what they had written on their white board was incorrect and unavailable - even though they had JUST put it up. He was disappointed but settled for it.

My mom and sister each got yogurt and fruit, my nephew got fries, and my dad got a grilled cheese sandwich and soup (my husband and I decided not to eat here but stayed to visit with family). After waiting almost 25 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of yogurt, they finally arrived. About 5 minutes after that, the plate of fries came out and, after complaining to the server, 10 minutes after that, the bowl of yogurt made its grand arrival 🤦🏻‍♀️ All in all, it took close to 45 minutes for the food to arrive. 2 tables with full meals had been served while we were still waiting.

This is a small restaurant and they were busy but not swamped. There was no excuse for this. The server never checked on us and only came back once we stopped her to get the check to leave. Even my dad, who frequents this restaurant, said that this was the worse experience and meal he'd ever had there.

The attitude of the staff and the timeliness of the subpar food was enough for us to strike this place off our "must visit" list for sure. There are other places in the area with better food and much more...

My senior friend Millie and I stopped in for a late lunch. We had a great time and a great meal. Our waitress was awesome! She made Millie feel like a friend, calling her Miss Millie, joking back and forth with her and making sure everything was perfect. Millie enjoyed her chicken pot pie and ate every bit of her coleslaw. She was all smiles on our ride home and was thrilled she had enough pot pie to take home. I had a yummy cheeseburger sub on a super soft roll and perfect french fries. Their iced tea is freshly brewed. This was the first time I had been there since it changed hands, love the specials, the expanded menu and the new facelift. Glad to see the ice cream, sundaes, desserts, and milkshakes are still available. Same great friendly staff and welcoming environment, although the faces are new. It's the kind of place with regulars on a first name basis with the staff and other regulars. Very welcoming and a pleasant banter back and forth. You can join in, with no feeling of being a stranger or you can keep to yourself no problem. Looking forward to a Friday night Steak night (2nd Friday of the Month) till the weather gets chilly(October maybe November) and they start again in the spring. Early bird Breakfast special 6-8am of 2 eggs how you like em and toast for $2.95 I highly recommend stopping there and giving it a try. You will definitely find something of the menu that will suit your fancy, probably lots of things and you won't be...

We have been here several times always good food and service. Not today! Whent at 11 30 am couldn't get breakfast ok we still stayed. We got cups of crab bisque soup.It was not hot at all it came with clumps of flour in it. If it was just mine ok I just got a bad cup but my husband's was the same.I can't eat much there so I usually go with there omelets ( I couldn't get today because of the breakfast time restrictions) which are always good. I did not eat the soup of course. I ordered a cup of chili for lunch the server brought the soup and chili at the same time I asked for cheese for the chili she never brought it but did stand at the counter on her phone. There were 3 dirty tables with dishes on it as guests came in and couldn't sit but there were 3 girls standing at the counter. My husband's lunch came (chicken sandwich) which he said was ok. I had 2 cups of cold bowls 1 chili 1 crab flour bisque. She asked if I wanted a cup to take the chili but didn't ask why I couldn't or didn't eat it. I said yes to the cup to go and asked for the cheese which she let me know she didn't charge me for it. So a lesson go before 11 am to get breakfast ( I am hyperglycemic I can not do carbs by the time I left here and tried the crab flour soup my sugar shot way up and had to go sit in the car) so go on Saturday morning the service is so much better and the food even the chili was NOTHING like the normal chili that...

Unfriendly staff, little choices. I would avoid this place at all cost. From the minute we walked in, the staff was unaccommodating. We arrived before their breakfast cutoff, and were seated about 5 minutes before. By the time the waitress came back to take our order, it was 8 minutes after the "cutoff" - our breakfast order was denied. To top it all off, our party did not receive their food all at the same time. We had some people finish eating before others got served. You would think that if we were there and seated prior to the cutoff, they would've taken our order since it was their fault the wait staff didn't return to our table. In looking at the items and prices, you are going to be able to find a better place with better service ANYWHERE near White Horse, PA. In fact, I would drive another 30 minutes in either direction to find a better place to eat.

This place is one of the most historic community based restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s clear talking to the patrons, that it is the one go to place for lunch, breakfast and dinner in the community. Located on rural Route 340, it caters to locals and passers by in equal numbers. Stopping in during lunch, I tried their cheesesteak which was excellent, and although I ordered the sauce on the side, it really made a difference. My meal included a classic corn chowder bowl, which was spot on and delicious. I also ordered the loaded fries and was pleased by the size of the serving. The onion rings were crumb-breaded rather than batter fried, which I prefer, but were tasty all the same. If you were traveling route 340 on your way to Lancaster or intercourse, I would highly recommend making a stop here along the way you’ll truly enjoy the experience.
