Man alive, why did it take me so long to find this place? I mean, I had a sandwich at Whole Food's and it was not very good. Then, I had a really strange sandwich at a place by my house and thought "where are the good deli's in this town?"
My wife and I found this spot on Yelp, of course, this past Saturday afternoon after a busy day of shopping and we were starving!
I really like the layout of the restaurant as they have seating at the bar as well as seating in the dining area. We showed up at noon on a Saturday, so obviously there was a short wait. It gave me just enough time to breathe in the aroma of perfectly seasoned pastrami! I sat there for a few minutes and watched hot pastrami sandwiches whisked from the kitchen to hungry diners. The aroma reminded me of my travels to NYC, where Jewish deli's are on every single corner.
We had dinner plans with friends and decided, after seeing the size of these 1/2 lb. sandwiches, that it was best to split one. The food came out really quick and I have to say, this was the very first time I tried rye bread. I've avoided it for years, but my wife wanted it, so I had no.... complaints.
The pastrami is fatty, seasoned perfectly and absolutely delicious! I picked off a a few slices to try on it's own because pastrami is my favorite. Then, I had a giant bite of my half sandwich, with the tangy, spice of the brown mustard, mixed with that delicious pastrami and it was delightful. Next time we dine here, I am getting my own sandwich so I can order it toasted. Toasted bread is always superior to un-toasted, right? It is. The french fries were crispy, crunchy, salty and fantastic! They appear to be fresh cut, but I need to chat with the folks next time to confirm.
I shall return for more, which I believe is the tell tale sign of a good restaurant and a...
Read moreFeldman's Deli is an absolute treasure in Salt Lake City, and a place I can't recommend highly enough. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with a warmth that is genuinely rare. Every single staff member, from the person taking our order to the people bringing out the food, was absolutely fantastic. They were not just efficient, but incredibly friendly, patient, and seemed to truly enjoy making sure every customer felt welcomed and valued. It's the kind of welcoming atmosphere that makes a great meal feel even more special. The real star of the show, of course, is the food, which is built on a foundation of truly top-notch ingredients. You can taste the quality in every single bite. The pastrami and corned beef were piled high, perfectly seasoned, and so tender they practically melted in your mouth. The rye bread was fresh and flavorful, providing the perfect structure for the mountain of delicious meat inside. It's abundantly clear that there are no shortcuts taken here; everything from the main ingredients to the pickles and mustard is authentic and of the highest caliber. Ultimately, the combination of incredible, high-quality food and a staff that treats you like family makes Feldman's Deli a must-visit. In a world of fast-casual dining, this place stands out as a genuine experience where pride is taken in both the product and the service. If you are looking for an authentic East Coast deli experience done right, look no further. We are already planning our...
Read moreedit After reading other reviews, it is clear the owner doesn't care and only offers excuses. Feedback isn't welcome. Perhaps you could take guidance from Zingermann's Guide to Giving Great service. Maybe you could learn a thing or 2 from a highly rated Jewish Deli.
Food is fine, but honestly, just go somewhere else. They hang their hat on being the only Jewish deli in the area, so they set the bar, and the bar is low low low. The owner sucks.
service was fine. The food was fine The experience was frustrating. The menu has incorrect prices on egg products. Items were not available due to an ongoing recall but were listed on the menu.
I believe the owner came to ask us how the dining experience was, and when we brought up these issues, he only wanted to give excuses instead of actually listening. YES I understand you can't print a new menu- but if it is an ongoing issue maybe find a better way to communicate- ( not available sitcker, chalk board upon entering, print outs at tables) instead you ask customers how it was and then dont care to listen.
I wasn't going to leave a review, I was just going to never choose this restaurant again, but the older man who seemed to be in charge was dismissive and rude.
DONT ASK IF...
