Read moreDelicious. Authentic. Amazing. These are just a few words that come to mind when I think of Santo Taco. Salt Lake is not known for its Mexican restaurants. Frankly, most of the ones I have tried lack that taste that bring me back to those Saturday morning trips to Mexico to eat food. I expected to go into Santo Taco and not have my expectations met. I would go in there, halfheartedly eat my food, and walk out still feeling homesick. However, my experience was nothing like that. From the moment I walked in, all of my senses were overloaded. I felt that nostalgia that real Mexican food brings to my soul. Flashbacks ran through my mind to be honest. It brought a tear to my eye. The smells were so authentic ranging from the salsa that my mother would make in her blender, to the carne asada from my favorite Taco restaurant in Mexicali. The sights were pleasurable to my eyes. I did not expect it to look so clean! There was a lot of white colors that made it feel as if I had just walked into the Gates of Heaven. And the taste was the most important part. The mole was so amazing and authentic. I really wanted to go back for seconds but did not want to look like a glutton. I went home that night regretting not putting my pride aside and buying some more mole. The mole was my personal favorite as it tasted exactly like the mole my mother would make for me. It really cured my homesickness. I have not gone back since that day sadly as it is kind of out of my way. If the restaurant was located closer to downtown, or if they open one there anytime soon, then I already know, I will not be able to hold myself back from going there at least twice a week. The owners and workers are great people and work quite efficiently for how packed the restaurant can get. If you want to travel to Mexico without paying for plane tickets, go to Santo Taco. You will not be...

I ordered food last Thursday night for delivery. They charged me and took the money, then used a third-party service to deliver. The order status kept changing — first it was late, then on time, then late again — and eventually it was canceled.
Guess who didn’t get their money back? I waited to make sure the charge cleared my bank before calling. I contacted my bank to start a dispute. On Monday, I called the restaurant — they hung up on me the first time. When I called back, someone claiming to be the manager said they’d speak to the owner and call me back. I’m still waiting.
I will never eat from them again. I’ll be calling my bank to let them know what I’ve experienced. According to my bank, I’m required to try resolving it first, and I have — but they’re taking too long to respond. It’s been almost a week.
I will be posting this on every platform I can and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
Archived the text message of the canceled order to show BBB. This sound like something they may do often. Take your oder then cancel and take your money.
