Blanquita Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in San Antonio

If I could give this place NO STARS I most certainly would. I definitely DON'T spend my money here because the food is great...I come here to meet up with family for a Sunday lunch here and there. We were 4 adults and 3 kids. Today we had a problem as we were paying our bill to leave. Turns out they offer a Sunday lunch special and it is common knowledge most places don't offer lunch specials on weekends so we were pleasantly surprised. Usually (weekday) specials come with tea included so we inquired if the tea was included and our waitress said yes...ok then 3 specials 1 fideo loco and multiple tacos. Food came...we ate. We approach to pay and my mom notices the cashier charges us for the teas. As she is pointing this out to the cashier, a voice from the restaurant floor yells that "TEA'S ARENT FREE ON SUNDAYS". Taken by complete surprise we turn around to find the owner is in the restaurant having lunch with her husband/bf and charges towards the register to argue her point. My mom explains that the waitress said they were but no problem...it's ok...we'll pay the drinks. The owner then turns around and yells at the waitress from across the room that she's wrong and tea IS NOT included in the weekend special. I was astounded at the lack of professionalism from a business owner over a drink. We weren't trying to get any food comped...we weren't trying to create a problem for the poor waitress but the way the owner handled it was horrible. THEY WERE TEAS! I will never step foot in that place again...the food is mediocre at best...don't waste your time or money because these...

7-10-2024 - Just last week l gave this place 5⭐ then yesterday we go there again, and I left vowing to NEVER go back, so how do you go from 5⭐ to never going back you might want to know. Well it's definitely not their food because their food is delicious, but the cashier is another story. She copped an attitude with me because I asked her to speak English to us. She speaks English very well, but as soon as we got up there to pay she started talking in Spanish. Don't assume that just because we are Mexican Americans we don't know how to talk in English. She turns around and tells a coworker something about us because the coworker turns to look right at us. You could have at least waited until we left. WELL then I proceeded to ask her about the "Michael Kors" purses for sale " " we have layaway" sign that they have right there where you pay your bill, and she answered with a bad attitude "WE DON'T HAVE ANY". Needless to say I called the restaurant to voice my complain, and she answered lol. I asked for the owner/manager and she tried telling me "he's not here", and then she said "he's busy". Yeah well I spoke with him anyway, and he was really nice. I told him we wouldn't be going back, but not because of the food. People their food is great just don't try saying anything to the cashier. She may bite or try to bite your head off.

I didn't get a pic but I had the Chicken Fajita plate. It was so good. They have really good food here....

My coworker and I go here on an almost weekly basis, but after today I will never return there. We each had chicken bone pieces in our green chicken enchiladas. We brought it to the attention of a waitress as soon as one was available to come to our table and asked for our meals to be comped.

When we went to pay, I asked for our meals to be comped due to the fact that we could have choked on the bones without ever knowing they were in the food. The response the woman with glasses gave me with a smile? "Chicken bones are sometimes within the enchiladas." I said that they are a choking hazard and I have never found chicken bones in any enchiladas there before, and I am a regular customer! She then said that I could leave and I would be comped.

Next time, apologize for the fact that your restaurant failed to ensure the safety of its customers and then comp the meal automatically without arguing with the customer. I'll never step foot in that place again after their blatant disregard...
