If I could give this place negative stars I would. First off, I tried to place an order over the phone and the lady hung up on me, this should have been my first red flag. My mother is diabetic and this restaurant is the closest to her walking distance so I instead went to order in person. I spoke to the lady in front and told her I wanted two orders of gorditas, one with avocado and both and on the second plate, one avocado, one chicken fajita and I wanted this grilled with a side of double rice and two tacos. I waited over 30 minutes which is to expected since it was lunch time and once I received my order I checked it but couldn't tell if it was grilled or fried and the ladies were all over the place. I went home and gave it to my mother who noticed immediately there were fried, and I told her that I told the lady that I wanted her plate grilled. She called the restaurant and the lady answered and started yelling and my mother and calling me a liar and I was just taken a back. My mom was trying to tell her if they can remake her food and the lady yelled that she wasn't going to get a refund and my mother responded, I wasn't asking for one, I just want my food remade. I tried to correct her and inform her of what was spoken and she hung up on me. I sent my brother to go ask the restaurant to remake it and he came back stating that the chef refused to remake it. This is the WORST customer service. Staff is rude is prideful, refuses to admit their mistakes and instead of remaking it, they rather lose a customer. I honestly think this whole misunderstanding originated since I spoke English and they spoke Spanish. Steer away from this place.
Also, don't believe some of these "positive" reviews. They are running a promotion for a $500 gift card...
Read moreClaudia is a true gem. It's not often that customers are treated to service as sincere and as high-quality as we found at Claudia's Restaurant #2.
We were met at the door with an exceptionally friendly greeting and promptly seated. To my surprise, the greeter and waitress turned out to be the owner herself, Claudia.
Both Claudia's smile and cheerful disposition were contagious as she quickly had my tired, hungry family smiling, feeling relaxed, and welcomed.
The food was good. Claudia explained that everything was homemade. That all of our plates were promplty emptied had as much to do with the quality of the food as the serving size.
So while the food was good, there is loads of very good Tex-Mex in San Antonio. There are also plenty of places that are fancier. What really sets this place apart is Claudia herself. I'd be surprised to find a location with better service.
No one in my family cared how fancy the tables or chairs were, or were not. A year from now, no one will remember what the silverware was like. However, it's not likely any of us will forget meeting Claudia, who felt like true friend by the time we left. Nor will we forget being made to feel at home for a few minutes of an otherwise busy and stressful day.
One note: We almost did not catch that gratuity was automatically added to our bill because there are 5 members of our family. At first, we double tipped Claudia, who deserved a tip that gracious. Unfortunately, we simply can not afford to be as kind as our hearts wished. We hated to do it, but we had to ask Claudia to help us with the refund,...
Read moreWent to lunch with my family... I DONT MIND TIPPING, WHEN YOU GOT GOOD SERVICE.. some ways she was she left without asking us if we needed anything else before her end of her shift..You need to check your receipt before paying, the tip is included in the receipt.. NO where in the restaurant or on the menu stats that a group of 5 their will be a gratuity will be added.. regardless how the service is or the food is.. i brought it to their attention the owner came back to my table with an attitude and with an update receipt and slam the receipt on the table. The tip was removed . Went up to counter to pay I mentioned it to the owner(Claudia ) if she can show me where it stats on the menu or counter about ",party of 5 there's a % gratuity" she didn't cus she doesn't have it posted.. so can you only imagine how many customers they have done this to. They get the gratuity tip on the receipt and a tip left on the table(double tip)... before I left she gave me a remark if I didn't have money why go out to eat.. Claudia I do have money that's why we go out to eat... My question to you is why were you flirting and drinking with the 3 men ? We are regulars there never had problems there before . My son in law family from Dallas came down and he took them there of all places "Claudia" came to his mind ... We also got food poisoning after we left stomach ache... We give CLAUDIA a BIG X CHECK YOUR RECEIPT...
