This USED BE the best crispy beef & breakfast tacos on Southside of San Antonio.. I actually ate there 5-7x a week!! (For shame)... Don't know if their good cooks were deported, found better jobs or just left but the food went down hill fast. Taco meat old ground meat, dry, dark-dark brown maybe reheated 3-4 days ( or changed meat supplier & now it's old-bad quality)& no seasoning what so ever. š® taco shells ALWAYS burnt & ransad, 1 slice š tomatoes for 3 tacos ( I can't start to explain that one).. NO BODY SPEAKS ENGLISH.. I THEY REALLY DONT WANT YOUR BUSINESS UNLESS YOU SPEAK SPANISH. ATTITUDE PLUS FROM THESE "Young woman" that were just smuggled in.. breakfast tacos used be awesome now 1/2 cooked. & Old tasting. I'm sure that the 5-6 food trucks the owner has on the streets are going threw same thing.. why hasn't he opened location on marback. Cut hours for nothing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food is very good here. The parking is free. You have two levels to choose from. Top or bottom. The restrooms are clean. Can't miss it (it's like on a hill). I call it "the restaurant on the hill". Many years back it used to be a car lot. (That's why it looks like it does.) Inside, you get to watch TV. Spanish only (what do you expect....it's a Mexican restaurant.) The staff are nice. The ladies are kind to my daughter. Always saying 'Hi' to her. Once in a while the owner is there. Nice guy. They give a lot for the price. (I Like that.š) . They mostly talk to you in Spanish, but they understand English. (Funny story. My wife always orders in ENGLISH, but thanks them in SPANISH. Their facial expressions are funny.) I like going there because the staff is friendly. If your in that area, stop in. It's worth it. Plus a cool view. Ok,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I go here every time we go to San Antonio for a weekend. For some reason, this last visit was sub-par to every other time weāve eaten there. My husband wasnāt satisfied with the taco salad, which he gets every single time. And I switch between the taco platter or shrimp ceviche. I donāt know why, but I found something that looked like a little black ball inside my food, and the ceviche was really salty! Last time I checked, thereās supposed to be lime, and a lot of it. The shrimp felt dry and just didnāt taste good.
I gave this experience a 2-Star rating because maybe perhaps they were just having a rough night. Thatās definitely not a good excuse for less than appetizing food, but we still love this place. Hopefully when we go there next month, the food quality...
