Esmeralda's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in San Antonio

1st time at this place. Our server Eddie was nice as can be. The rest. Itself was nice & decent inside. However the food was a whole different story. We were in a mood for menudo. Now I have to say I looked up online for places that serve it & this rest. came up & I took a look at the pics on the meñu. All looked good. So thats why we went. So, we ordered menudo but in advance we did ask to have more hamony than meat. Well we waited quite some time & at that the rest. only had 3 tables which had already been served. The coffee we had tasted old & was super dark even with 6 little cups of milk that I poored into it. Finally as we were served our food the menudo was basicly pieces of meat that looked like it had been scraped at bottom of the pot w/about 8 balls of hamony. My daughters menudo had NONE! I brought it to the servers attn. about the menudo. He said he.would fix it then spoke to the other server & she told him to charge me xtra ro add hamony! I asked her why was she charging me xtra for something that goes already in the menudo she LITERALLY ARGUED THAT POZOLE IS DIFFERENT FROM MENUDO😆😆..she told me nxt time order pozole if I want pozole. Well DAMN IF THIS WHOLE TIME IN ALL MY LIFE MY MEXICAN FAMILY, FRIENDS, & OTHER MEXICAN REST. LIED TO ME THAT MENUUUDO HAS **PIGS FEET, TRIPE, BELLY, HAAAAMONY!!!, RED CHILI SAUCE IN THE WATER THAT IS BOILED ALONG W/SALT, GARLIC & ONION TO KILL THE DAMN STINKIN SMELL OF PIG IN THE CALDO UNLESS ITS COOKED W/BEEF TRIPE! ALLLLL THE MEX. REST. that have menudo pictures on there WEB PAGES ARE EITHER LIARS OR STUPID BECAUSE THE WAITRESS THAT WAS ARGUING WITH ME WAS HIGHLY INTLLIGENT TO SUGGEST OTHERWISE🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣! SO IF ANYONE EVER ORDERS ANYTHING MAKE SURE YOU ASK WHAT ARE THEIR INGEDIENTS BECAUSE CLEARLY THIS REST. HAS CERTAAAIN PEOPLE WHOM KNOW BETTER!....I MEAN EVEN A TABLE OF 6 LADIES WERE LAUGHING ABOUT WHAT SHE SAID MENUDO WAS🤣🤣🤣🤣! OH & THEY DONT KNOW THE NAMES.OF THE BOSSES OR MANAGERS ACCORDING TO THE LADY WAITRESS THERE, MORE OVER SHE SAID THEIR NEVER THERE! DONT GO HERE! If you want to be sick. I went through the drive through and got a gordita plate. The meat wasn’t cooked all the way and I got food poisoning. I called to report the issue and refund but was told no manager 10/10/23. Then called 10/11 and I was left on hold for 15mins. I went by to complain because I threw up so many time of that uncooked cooked food. When I brought it to their attention in person they spoke Spanish and acted like I didn’t know what they were saying. The ladies indicated that why didn’t I complain or take it back and continue to say rude stuff about me. I work for medical hospital and I can it was a disgrace disrespectful and I would say not to go here. They have seen me many times for breakfast but treated me horrible. This wasn’t the first time I have gotten rushed food through the drive through but Seriously I wouldn’t recommend place that can cause health issues and care of their customers. As a veteran I wanted to go off but realized this is a hole in the wall and why they haven’t gotten success to build more because of cheap food and cheap results.They never made it right and I will be passing on this to all my medical staff.
