I waited 10 days to give this review to ensure that I didn’t write this review out of spite. I will start off by saying that my overall experience at Freetails ended up being enjoyable. First off, we walked in on a Wednesday night and the sign in front of us read “please seat yourself”. This was obviously not conveyed to the waitress whose section we ended up in. Not only was this table the only empty table, it was still full dishes left by the previous patrons. Let me be clear, we did NOT have a problem with the dirty dishes on the table since we sat ourselves at this table. Our young blonde waitress made her way over to our table and started cleaning the table. Rather than introducing herself to us or state that she would like to clean the dirty table, she sighed and acted like we were bothering her by sitting in her section. As she started cleaning the table, I asked her for a beer, which she snapped back at me with “You are going to have to wait a minute”. Ok – so at this point I am getting a little miffed. It would have been great for her to say something like “I will put your order in as soon clear some of this stuff off your table.” She finally cleared the table, brought us menus. Before giving us the menus, she recognized she did crappy job of clearing off the crumbs and food particles. So what do you think she did? She dropped all of the menus on the FLOOR and then began to wipe the table. What do you think she did with the crumbs and food particles that she collected in your rag? She swiped them off the table and ON THE FLOOR WHERE THE MENUS WERE LAYING! When she recognized what she did noticed that I watched her do it, she curtly asked me if I wanted new menus to which I responded with a YES. As she walked away with the “dirty” menus, she started talking under breathe about my request for new menus. I couldn’t pick out exactly what she said, but under the circumstance and the tension my five friends and I now have with this girl’s less than professional demeanor, I would wager money, it was neither pleasant nor professional. I discussed with the table that we should probably just get up and leave. Before we could get up and leave, a new waiter came over to let us know that he will be HAPPY to take care of us. He could tell our evening of enjoying Freetails was coming to very disastrous end! He apologized and made a comment about the young waitress was having a bad day. We ended up staying and our new waiter took great care of us. If he was having a bad day, it didn’t show. My appreciation for his willingness to work a table was not in section with a positive attitude reflected very well in his tip!
My recommendation – All the pizzas are great. If you find yourself in the “wrong” section, find a new...
Read moreThe variety of beers is great, the pizza is good, but the service is way below the minimum standard. We've been coming here for a couple years after running at Eisenhower Park and it never seems to get any better. We sit outside as we are usually between 5-10 people who just ran and it's as though the waiters have blinders on. It took 25 minutes to acknowledge we were there and as we have come to expect slower than average service we pretty much know what we want to order right away so we give our drink and meal order at the same time. It still takes about another 20-30 min to bring out the drinks and then hopefully, if we're lucky, an additional 30-45 minutes for the food. I finally addressed the issue with a manager as this latest experience was a joke (ordered the special which is a med pizza and a pitcher of beer to split between my friend and myself). When the drinks come out we get a single pint of beer and when we advised we had the special and it should be a pitcher the response was "this is what is on the ticket". Finally get that squared away and when the pizza comes out it's a small pizza and not a medium. Same server, same response. He then advises that what he will do is place an order for another small. I ask approximately how long as we've already been there an hour and he then states that he can simply take the small pizza back and leaves it at that. After speaking with the manager about our experience she did make it right and as always the beer is very good. We will be...
Read moreWe were shopping at the Northstar mall, and we were looking for a brewery we had not been to. This popped up in our search. Even though it was not on our way home, we decided to visit this brewery. It's a little deceiving as it is on top of a hill. Approaching the brewery, we noticed it has outdoor seating. That's an added plus. We went inside and had no problem in being seated right away. We didn't wait to long for a bubbly, energetic server to approach our table (Elena). Being our first time there, I asked her for suggestions on beers based on my likes, and she made a few. It's so refreshing when you have a server that knows her products. I was pleasantly surprised that they offered hummus and pita bread or chips. While it was good, it needed a little bit more flavor (hummus). Other than that, it was good. I also ordered the Freetail BAT with tomato basil soup. I am glad that I did. The soup was nice and creamy, and the sandwich was spot on. The bread was soft, bacon nice and crispy, and the avocado ripe and creamy all that just made the BAT so YUMMY 😋 . My husband had the Gyro and chili cup. He enjoyed his food even though the chili was fire 🔥 Our beers were pleasantly tasty as well. Our server, Elena, was superb. If you are looking for a chili brewery, then check this out. I would highly recommend it. One thing that I would recommend is the lighting. It's pretty bright, perhaps turn it down, just a skosh....
