Jaime's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in San Antonio

Use to be our #1 go to restaurant for breakfast but not anymore. Will be finding a new place after today.

Waitress refilled our cup of coffee but never came came back with creamer so I walked up and got my own. My husband ordered chorizo con huevo plate. The chorizo he was served was brown and did not have the traditional red spices that give it the red color.

We were told that if the cook adds extra chorizo it will be the red colored one. Then we were served a side order of chorizo and egg without us asking for it and to make things worse we were charged for the extra serving.

Then the waitress came by to ask if we needed anything else. I answered “No” and. She removed my husbands plate which had his fork on it. My husband had not finished eating but his mouth was full of food so he couldn’t talk to tell her. When she came back to pick up my plate I told you “you took my husbands plate without asking if he was finished eating and the plate still had his fork on it”. All she could say was sorry.

I ordered Steak ala Mexicans plate with extra chile peppers. I might as well have ordered the whole steak because the steak, onions, tomatoes and jalapeños were so thickly sliced they looked almost whole. When I have ordered it before all is thinly sliced and shredded. They steak chunks were so hard to chew might teeth hurt afterwards and could not finish.

I pulled up because this restaurant actually had cars in it. I was seated very quickly and every server i encountered was warm and friendly. With this being a mexican restaurant, i already knew wht i wanted. With them being a Coke place i opted for a sprite.

The hostess brought the chips and salsa quickly. The chips were standard bagged fair. The salsa on the other hand was at another level. Thick, warm, and very flavorful with a stacking heat. I thouroughly enjoyed them.

My steak tacos came very quickly as well with alot of people in the restaurant. They did not disappoint. Juicy, flavorful meat. I didnt need the salsa verde on them to eat them. I did use the salsa verde though. Also flavorful with the right amount of heat. It also came with charro beans, again. No disappointment there as well. Very fatty though, however, thats not a complaint. It added the flavor, and they were large enough i could remove them.

Parking was also accessible and not over crowded. All in all a great experience. May be my favorite spot on this side of town. I will definitely try them out again to make sure. My only confusuon is i dont know who my server was. They didnt...

I got the beef enchilada plate in drive thru. When the girl realized I was African American she acted very very rude! What is wrong with y'all. I was born here in San Antonio and a lot of my best friends are Hispanic. When I grew up here in the 80's this city use to be the good one I don't know where these other racist are coming from. I've love all over the world because a military brat. I also have served this country in the military. Disabled Veteran. We are minorities here in this city ! I didn't even get my change back tried to get girls attention because they didn't give me flour tortillas with my meal. If your going to have a restaurant anybody should be able to eat your food it don't matter what color your skin is. I will never buy anything else from this place and I will tell everybody else not to get anything from here. Y'all need to go to church...get saved. When we die guess what you will be going to Heaven or Hell with all race of people!!! We all blessed the same red blood. God created all of us . We must learn how to come together not apart ! Y'all...
