Mittman Fine Foods — Restaurant in San Antonio

Went to Mittman this afternoon for lunch. We have enjoyed great food at previous visits to this location on the east side. I wanted to add bacon to a breakfast plate which was being still served at the time. The waitress came back to notify me that the price was going up six dollars so a six dollar plate was now cost me $12 without tax included yet. When I question my waitress she referred to the owner which the owner shared with me that I was being charged almost $1.50 per piece of bacon and that also the plate that I had ordered at six dollars had gone up three additional dollars because they have the right to change prices. As a small business owner I understand fluctuation of prices. I also understand in notifying my clients not only in a price change but in how much the price has changed. So please beware when ordering your food at MITMAN do not go by prices on the menu but much rather ask your waitress what the current prices are to see if it’s something that you feel worth your meal. I say this because the owner to my face told me that with the warning at the bottom of the menu that price is subject to change that she has the right to charge me but she feels fit. It is my opinion that small business like that give other small businesses a bad name. NEVER...

Generally I like the food but this particular day I ordered food got it home and bit down on a piece of metal. I immediately called and spoke to the owner's wife all she could tell me was "oh honey I remember you I am so sorry right now I am really busy can you call back and speak to my husband" never asked me if I was all right or for that matter bring the dish back in .I understand that she was trying to take orders but I'm a customer that bit down on a piece of metal which could have easily broken a tooth. You would have thought as an owner she would have said mam hold on just a minute and gotten someone else to take orders while she address this situation but she did not so that was my last time going there. It's really a shame to say but some business owners do not know a thing about good customer service and for this reason I rated this with just one star and that's because the food is usually good but the lack of attention to detail sucks and the lack of concern it...

This place has been on my list for years. I can definitely say it was worth the wait! Few things that could be better is using fries for huevos ranchero plate. They were good just usually like cut potatoes with my plate. The other was the restrooms situation being that there's only 2 restrooms right in the dining room. Besides that everything was perfect. The tortillas are 100% amazing 😍 My over medium eggs were executed perfectly. The beans, bacon, fries were really good. For a few extra dollars I had a side of carne guisada. The carne guisada is so tender and the gravy has so much flavor! With all this food I could only eat half of my plate. My son had the mini tacos. They were ridiculously tasty! With good size pieces of meat, covered in melted cheese and grilled onion. Both hot sauces were tasty but hot be careful. And finally the lemonade and the Arnold Palmer hit the spot!
