The family and I love coming here! The amazing chef, Gennaro is INCREDIBLE. Every time, the food is divine. I love the seafood dish I get, and it is always LOADED with the most beautifully cooked seafood. My husband cleans his plate every time he gets the lasagna, getting as much sauce on the fresh bread as he can. My daughter LOVES the pizzas, they are always super cheesy! Akita was the most bubbly and friendly waitress! She made the whole experience an absolute delight! Always phenomenal service and wonderful service! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!
Who left a piece of Italy in the middle of San Antonio??
I am AMAZED! They tried to say they were short waiters tonight, but with the hussle these people had, I did not notice! Checked on without feeling stalked, loved without being molested! The staff was friendly, fast, and super patient!
Our food was GREAT! The portions were PERFECT! We started with cheesy garlic bread, and it was wonderful, with so much cheese I wondered if there was even bread under it, until I bit into it for delicious soft bread with a crisp edge...Divine...
My husband ordered spaghetti with meatballs, and I had spaghetti with seafood (I could not pronounce it, much less spell it). Our lovely waitress was wonderful and pronounced the dish for me without making me feel like the monolingual fool that I am!
The first sniff of this amazing dish flirted seductively with my nose. I pulled muscles and clams from their shells. Huge shrimp dominated my pasta, and fried tendrils of tender calamari patiently waited for attention.
Delicious? Delectable? Words that can barely capture the sensual caresses to my tastebuds. My palate was in ecstacy over the delicate spice in the tomato sauce...pure bliss!
Then, desert...oh, sweet blessings, the dessert! Generous portions of freshly made cheesecake and tiramisu. Like a voluptuous hug of satiny soft cream in my mouth.
My husband, picky as a toddler about his food, actually enjoyed it so much, he complimented the staff. I was in shock, the man has to ADORE his meal to compliment. I should know, 12 years of marriage attests to this.
In other words, if you even vaguely enjoy Italian food, YOU NEED TO...
Read moreI was really hoping to like this place. Sadly I do not. Both of my parents were in the restaurant industry at least almost all of my life. My father owning a restaurant and my mother owing one of the biggest catering companies. So I do know the food prices that associate with running a restaurant. And pasta still being one of the cheapest items to buy although I do realize prices have risen. I tend to cringe when I see 16 18 dollars for pasta dishes. And if you want meatballs it's an extra five dollars. And forget the fact if you want a salad with your meal like most places will go ahead and include a salad with your meal. That's also extra. We ordered two pasta dishes. They were decent nothing that actually stood out. I will say though they do make a good meatball. I would expect a little more for what you pay not that you may not necessarily need it but to have enough to take home with you would be adequate. It was an enjoyable meal the tiramisu, is very wonderful. I just know if you are in a rush then you better find someplace else. This place is not fast at all. Servers are relatively young and an experienced you will have to constantly ask for things that you need. They will also forget things that you asked for so just be ready. I felt like a few times getting up and getting my own items but I didn't want to be rude. Rule of thumb please bring the salad before you bring the main dish. Makes sense right? I believe there was three to four people running around helping when I was there. The first room they have I can run circles by myself and make sure people are taken care of. I most likely will not be going back. Too many other places in the same category I feel gives you better choices for your dollar But give it a try it might become your...
Read moreWe ordered lemon pepper wings and the eggplant parm with angel hair.the wings were entirely overcooked and very dry. They charged 15.45 for 8 wings. I didn't even taste butter ..they were over fried with a bunch of lemon pepper powder.
The eggplant was nothing like the pictures they had advertised outside. It was all the way soggy and drenched with the marinara sauce . The angel hair was spaghetti noodles overly sauced with marinara.
The lady never asked how we were doing even thouh she had asked other guests. They had a good looking pizza.
When she came over and asked if we wanted to go plates said oh no thanks and made a face and said i really didnt like it...I did not take but one or two bites from the pasta and eggplant...she simply said ok and walked away. She came back and asked if we wanted anything else..I said a discount and chuckled. I had to put in my two cents about how it wasn't very good and how I thought it was angel hair that was not sauced and fresh...i whispered as I hate complaining. She didt even say sorry or try to fix it...Instead she came back with a check that at first I thought i heard her say she was taking it off which I told her how relieved I was because i was so upset . she charged me 4.99 for a spaghetti side and 3.50 for a drink..I hadn't even ordered a drink. I took it as instead of charging me the 15 for the plate she was charging me 8.50 for literally nothing...i was livid. But I just tipped 2 dollars paid 31 for the meal and left. Felt horrible for tipping so little but gosh...I'm a chef. They could have done so much better. Traditional Italian it was far from. No wonder it...
