Taqueria Jalisco — Restaurant in San Antonio

The tortas are probably the best thing about this place. I usually add beans to make it better. But they are not consistent with the food product. The first time time everything was good. The second time the beans tasted old like they had freezer burn and they barely toasted the torta. The third time asked if they would toast it a little bit but not burn it. Guess what? They burned it and didn't even try to make it look edible. This time the beans were ok but not fresh. We have also ordered tacos at different times. The fajita are good but they do put lots of peppers and onions in them. But once again not consistent it food product. Some days tacos are fresh and full, other times food is old and skimpy in product. After many visits and trying them on different days, the decision to not return makes sense if a restaurant wants patrons to continue to visit their establishment they should make their food good every day and use fresh food daily. Hadn’t been to this restaurant in a long time. The last time I went to this restaurant was about 6 months ago, I had gone through the drive thru, had ordered 2 carne guisada & cheese. It was close to closing. Instead of them telling me there was no more carne guisada, they gave me 2 tacos of cheese with very little carne guisada gravy! Of course, they were closed by the time I had made it home. I called the next morning & the manager said without seeing the tacos, I had no proof! REALLY!?! Decided to give them another chance; thought maybe now they have better staff. I ordered an enchilada plate with side of avocado, they gave me two enchiladas and slices of avocado with no beans, no rice & no tortillas! Called the restaurant, spoke to the manager & get this!.... he said he personally took the order and that’s what I asked for. The food is not good. The chips tasted rancid. I like salt, I add salt to everything usually, but the beans here were extra salty on their own. The rice is dry, so dry the peas and carrots in the rice were hard and dehydrated. The tripas, tasted like they cooked them in old grease. The kids pancakes were dark colored, I didn't notice at first. Then my grandbaby said she didn't like it. It had a smell, like moldy. I wonder if the batter was old. It was a dark colored pancake, like an all bran wheat pancake, which I doubt they made. It smelled bad. The adult plates were 13 to 16 each. Not worth it.
