The Hungry Greek — Restaurant in San Antonio

Strike One!! I have been eating at Hungry Greek restaurants for 8 years. They have always been my favorite across the board. I have made or have eaten tzatziki pretty much all my life starting in Tarpon Springs. Yesterday at the San Antonio restaurant I got a Greek Bowl to go for my Sunday lunch. Today I was disappointed that instead of getting tzatziki sauce I got plain sour cream with nothing in at all... just sour cream. So now when I get my take out orders I am going to have open the bag and check my food before I leave the restaurant. bummer! The Greek Bowl would have been excellent with tzatziki. We stumbled upon this gem after visiting Mirada lagoon. It was delicious. The service was good and it was very clean. I loved the Greek salad & avgolemona soup is the BEST!!! Also we shared the spanakopita and it was spot on!!! My husband had the gyro & he enjoyed it. The pita chips & tziki sauce is fabulous too. We got 2 orders of soup to go because it was THAT GOOD!! We revisited again when we were back at the lagoon, and it did not disappoint. It is an HOUR away😥 so this has to be a special treat. The service was so fast today, by the time I finished sitting down and starting up a game, the food was ready! Around certain mealtimes, it can get busier, but the food is always fresh and appropritately hot and cold- and always worth the wait. This is a chain with several locations in the area, and all the food is delicious (best chicken Caesar pita around!) You'll get a craving for this place once or twice a week. This location is cleanly, and at a convenient location. The interior design is polished concrete and flat walls, so it can get a bit noisy, if you or someone in your party has a bit of a headache or not a fan of loud noises. But I wouldn't dock a star for that- ordering online is easy, and the staff is patient...
