The right hand door handle to the terminal main entrance is locked a lot for some reason. My first time I tried to visit I thought they were closed and I left out of social anxiety LOL 🫠. USE THE LEFT HAND/EXIT SIDE DOOR HANDLE and go inside and to the left, you'll see a couch and that's the cafe!
It's rare to find fresh food these days let alone at a cafe that has a great atmosphere where you can watch planes and helicopters taxing, taking off and landing and general runway work! 🛩️🚁
There's plenty of seating inside and out! If you need a place to take a date 💕, the family, or get some work done 💻 this is at the top of my list! As a note it's not the best for taking meetings in because inside can get echoey inside.
I'm telling all my friend about this place because I love local small businesses and this one allocates a portion of proceeds to their local industry!
Edit: owner feedback: (if the owners read this some sound foam in the rafters would go a long way and maybe a carpet leading in or at the counter? If not even for people working maybe just to make the place more soft and quiet so people aren't shouting over each other) please adjust the feet on the wobbly tables or look into getting "wobble wedges" chair gliders, probably felt for that type of floor :) some Edison bulbs 💡 would enhance the theme you're going for with the golden era of aviation and jazz 💙 Enable "Popular Times" 📈📉 in Google Maps. Sometimes people like some quiet time in a cafe sometimes there's a desire for a bustling cafe for the energy and it's nice to know beforehand especially in San Antonio where the next cafe over may be...
Read moreWe were heading to take a walk along mission trails and we saw a few signs for this place. My husband asked if I wanted to go there after, and loving food, I said sure! We were greeted with a smile when we walked in, given a quick rundown (order at register then they will bring the food to the table), was asked if my daughter liked to draw, and they brought over a color sheet and crayons for her. After looking at the menu my husband placed our order and knowing how toddlers are, the owner was kind enough to bring a few pieces of fruit and some crackers for my daughter to munch on while we waited.
I honestly cant say how long the wait was because we were just enjoying ourselves and watching the planes, but it didn't seem like it took too long (especially for from scratch food.) When the plates came the sandwiches were huge! I got the chicken parmesan and my husband got the Reuben. It was absolutely delicious. The bread may have been my favorite part because i love homemade bread, and this was definitely not store bought. The fries were also amazing. It's very rare I find a place that can make fresh fries taste good and these actually blew me away.
My husband was able to finish his, but I had to take half of my sandwich home. Instead of using the microwave to heat it up I used the oven, and it made the bread nice and crunchy again! For leftovers, it tasted amazing, almost as good as when it was ordered. The price may seem high for some people, but honestly, having everything made fresh and with such a large portion, I think it's well priced. One sandwich and fries could easily feed 2 people. We look forward...

Quality and service has gone down significantly. We were charged nearly $30 for 6 eggs, 6 slices of bacon, and a bagel (menu prices should have brought it closer to $15). The eggs were flavorless, the bacon looked like it was cooked sometime in the past few days and just reheated (literally crumbled when I picked it up), but the bagel was fine. On top of that, for how slow it was, it took nearly 30 minutes to get our order.
We only came here so our child could watch the planes, but we've been experiencing a downward trend in quality and service for months, so we'll likely just start looking elsewhere. Unfortunate.

Our toddler has been enjoying things with engines lately, and he loves watching the planes fly overhead at home. I remembered a little cafe back in New England that I frequented where you could get a good meal and watch the planes take off or land.
I looked around the city for something like that and came across Trailblazer Cafe. We stopped in earlier this morning and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was great, and it was relatively quiet. Being able to pop outside so our toddler could really watch the planes up close was a great experience for him.
We got a nice sampling of almost all the breakfast foods, and we're excited to go back for the lunch or dinner menu next.
If you're looking for something a little different with great food, Trailblazer Cafe is...
