We had family visiting from out of town and they love this place. So on Sunday they decided to go get some tacos and carne guisada plates. They were charged at the time they placed the order at which time they also gave a large tip since it was the employees birthday that took her order in the drive through. My family was told it would be a few minutes. After an hour had passed, the employee came back to the window to inform them that is was going to be an additional 20 minutes because they still had seven tickets in front of them. At this point I’m questioning why the employee had not told my family how long the wait would be. So they decided to wait since they’d already been waiting this long. They went to the convenience store next door, and when they came back hoping to finally get the order they were told by the employee that the order STILL was not finished. Keep in mind this entire time that my family was in the drive through at the window patiently waiting on an order that obviously was not a priority to this establishment, they witnessed several other customers coming and going from inside the restaurant having been served before her or even after her. She was again told it wasn’t quite ready and was asked if she’d like to wait inside. And the employee hoped that she wasn’t too mad. Well she was obviously very frustrated by this point. She said she’d like her money back after they finally were given most of the food, so the employee went to ask the manager for the refund. To which the manager said my family could only have one or the other. Even though they had let a customer sit there waiting like an idiot for an hour and a half. My family opted to take the food and leave because we were all hungry and worried that something terrible had happened to her since she was gone so long. Needless to say I nor my family will ever eat here again. They obviously don’t care about customer service and personally there are many other places with better food and excellent customer service. Thank you El Mante for showing my visiting family a horrible example of how to run a business and treat customers with no respect. They spent something like 70 dollars there plus a 10 dollar tip for the birthday girl. WE WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN, AND I WILL MAKE SURE TO TELL EVERYONE I KNOW WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WE HAD THERE. I hope no one else ever has to have the...
Read moreWell, I came on a sunday and was ok. The only thing I hate is that they allow people there to preach. I'm like, seriously, if i wanted to hear this, I'd go to a church. And another is kareoke. Seriously, it kills my appetite, and i just want to have a peaceful lunch. So not everyone is gonna agree, but I dont like to be disturbed. There is a time and place for things like that but not in the restaurant. Another thing about this place is that breakfast is NOT ALL DAY! So if its lunch time well that is what you will get. So I wasn't thrilled. I gave it this 2nd time , but I guess i may order to go on some limited things from the menu. My moyeja tacos were good, I do recommend, but I prefer with the side trimmings on the side, not in my tacos. I will dress it myself. That's just my preference.
y'all, this place is good. But, they have good presintation on their food, but don't let it quite fool you. I've been looking for Hotel Ribs which is so difficult to find a good place who serves them juicy, fully cooked not burnt or dry if you are a Pit person and know how to cook it then you know what I'm talking abt. U want it to come off the bone and not fight with my meal and leave a bit more on...
Read moreThis is the first review I will be writing in both English and Spanish to express the issue I encountered at this place. This is a very busy place, which is good. It only signifies that it has established its client base and people will come back to where its good. I went with my family. They ordered tacos and I ordered a "comalito" called Bernal. It's a parrillada combination of shrimp, fajitas, and sausage served with rice, beans, and avocado, portions are well served. Photos below speak for themselves, food looks delicious. The customer service is good and service is fast being that it is a very busy place. The reason I am giving this restaurant a 3 star rating instead of 4 star rating is because of the flour tortillas. Yes, the pictures below of the tortillas are the flour tortillas served with this plate. In South Texas, Rio Grande Valley, its an insult to served flour tortillas in this fashion. I had to ask the server if they were flour tortillas because they looked like corn tortillas. She said that this particular plate comes with these tortillas and if I wanted the homemade tortilla that its $1.25 extra. Its one of their expensive plates on the menu which I believe was at a good price but I was disappointed and ordered my food to go to cook my own flour tortillas at home. I hope the owner listens to my suggestion and changes this and just gives a regular homemade tortilla with these plates.
