Captain Sam's Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in San Diego

First & foremost I’m extremely heartbroken that I have to even give this place a low score because I never wanna do this type of stuff to black owned businesses but as soon as you start off on the phone, it seems like everybody starts off with extremely rude attitude for some odd reason like somebody forced him to work there second of all I’m trying to calling and the guy keeps hanging up the phone on me when I’m trying to explain to him that on Uber eats it’s hard to order a side dish and they won’t fix the menu Third of all black bussines . Please get it together. This is extremely horrible and you make us all look bad I would not be coming over here and I would recommend nobody to come over here as well or if you’re due you, please talk to these people in person because it seemed like they’re very hardheaded and extremely hard...

I saw someone recommend this place in a facebook group so I figured I’d give it a try. But like most of the food in SD, this was LACKING. I ordered fried whiting and fried scallops. They both came with fries. The price? $30 and it was absolutely NOT worth $30. 2 pieces of fish and fries… maybe 7 scallops I think. Not that I eat a lot but anyway, the food itself was not good. Well except the fries. They were the best part of the meal. Seasoned and fried right. I’m not even a fry person honestly. But the whiting just didn’t taste good and the texture was almost like rubber but not really idk. It was off. The scallops were fried horribly. The breading was literally falling off the scallop itself because it was so soft. Scallops weren’t good either. Obviously I won’t be eating here...

I flew all the way from Connecticut for a family vacation. I was craving some deep fried catfish, came across this restaurant on door dash. Man this place didn’t disappoint. This is the absolute best food I have ever had. I was raised in the south where fish fry’s are something we did frequently. This restaurant taste exactly like those fish fry’s did. Opens up a whole vault of memories for me. Absolutely amazing job! I will definitely have to come back here before I fly back to Connecticut, and every time I come this way for vacation, I will have to eat here. We had catfish, okra, Mac and cheese bites, mushrooms, and corn nuggets. By far amazing and outstandingly delicious....
