Erlene's Family Style Cuisine — Restaurant in San Diego

My family celebrated my 50th birthday in January here. If you are looking for something intimate this is the perfect place. The venue is a house but with a restaurant setting. The service and hospitality that we received was above and beyond. We had our event from 3pm to 10pm. Nothing was rushed and she was very thorough throughout our event making sure that we were taken care of. She has karaoke and surround speakers for you to play the music of your choice. We ordered the Mexican menu that has a 3 course meal and includes non-alcoholic beverages. She made a delicious tres leches cake. After completing your reservation she is very communicative. She will contact you for all specifics like colors, food and food choices before the event to make sure that everything is perfect for you. Hidden gem! San Diego has recently legalized home based restaurants and Erlene’s is one of the leaders in this new concept! Chef Erlene has a fabulously beautiful patio area set for dining and entertaining small groups and is proficient in serving up any cuisine you can imagine. Her chicken piccata and rice pilaf (which is what we had for our anniversary dinner) are amazing. She makes home made desserts and baked goods to round out the meal with tea party service and/or coffee available as well. We were here celebrating a birthday party and Erlene’s cuisine was way more than expected. Fresh gourmet food and a healthy variety of all you can eat delicious entrees. This is truly a hidden gem and happy to have celebrated here, what a wonderful surprise. The food, the service, and the ambiance falls nothing short of an amazing experience.
