I have gone to this restaurant a few times over the years since the 1960s. Most recent about 3 times over the last 4 years and I will never go back. Only once did I get a steak that was good. My most recent experience on Sunday in March of 2023 was awful. My wife and I ordered their center cut aged corn fed 10oz top sirloin steaks and mine had so much grissle and fat it was not fit to eat. I ordered mine medium as did my wife. When we got our steaks they were both very rare not even close to medium. My wife's was so rare she had to send it back full well knowing it was going to ruin her steak. When she got her steak back it was more on the order of medium but dried out and she commented that it had no flavor. When they returned her steak, they also gave her a complementary half sab of pork ribs. I think that was because they could see that her steak was so rare they must have felt bad. Well, she offered me one of her pork ribs and hostely the rub they used was so salty neither her nor I could or would eat the ribs. They were the worst pork ribs we have ever tasted. My uncle ordered their largest steak and my aunt ordered the filet mignon both rare. They were both happy with their steaks and had no complaints. In retrospect, I think I just got a bad steak with grissle and fat. I think my wife's steak would have been good if it were not served so rare (and I mean rare) when she ordered it medium. Again, this is the second time I have ordered a steak their that had so much grissle and fat it was really not fit to feed a dog. When ordering steaks and paying the prices they charge you should be receiving a quality steak and it should be cooked close to what you ordered. Our steaks were not and as a result we will never go back. This is the first time I have ever written a review for a steak house. I have received a few bad steaks in my life as I am 74 years old but none that I can think of even close to how bad my steak was on two occasions at this restaurant. It had so much grissle and fat for a corn fed aged steak it was awful. We will...
Read moreWhat a great location. We have been trying to go for months and we finally made it. It was really busy because they had a couple of large parties. The staff handled it beautifully. We had a forty minute wait so we went to the bar. Mustang helped us out. We had the red rising a beer the nectar Rita which was not very good and a cookie dough martini that was delicious. We got seated right away and were told that the potato and corn or a must order. We were also told that the blue cheese and ranch dressing were made in house. We had the ribeye steak medium with potatoes corn some bread some beans and some mac & cheese. The steak was absolutely delicious as were the baked potatoes the corn was OK the char on it was delicious. The bread was not great kind of like sliced bread out of a bag it wasn’t warm and didn’t have a whole Lotta flavor. The beans had a little bit too much rosemary for my liking but I’m sure most people love it. Buttercup took our order and seated us because snakebite our waitress was busy helping other people. Snakebite was amazing she was so cool and so sweet and just on top of everything making sure we had everything that we needed. The location is super cool with the ties all over the place we got to experience two people get their ties cut off when was a kid and he was so excited. The kitchen is open so you can walk by and you can check out them cooking your food which I thought was really nice. Although they were busy the staff was really attentive to everybody’s needs and really nice nobody seem to be complaining about anything and everybody seem to be enjoying their food. The location is super cool 10 out of 10 we’re totally recommend and we do plan on going back real soon. Thank you snakebite for the great service the wonderful food. Mustang and buttercup we...
Read moreCame here on a Tuesday night because my parents were visiting from out of state. We were a larger party of 10. I see the appeal of coming here for the laid back atmosphere with the fun memory of having your tie cut off but that is about the end of my positive experience. It was unbelievably crowded so it was VERY loud and made conversation more than one person away impossible. We had to order our food in shifts between the birthday shout outs and tie cuttings because our server couldn't hear over the commotion. She would leave and come back when it had died down. The place seemed understaffed. Our server was very nice but she was running around like crazy to her other tables so we were left with empty drinks and water for the majority of our visit. My family will typically have 2-3 alcoholic beverages each when we get together but we never had a chance to order a second. The food was exorbitantly priced and mediocre, at best. We had one mac and cheese that was cold, like not even warm in the middle, and another that was like lava. A baked potato that was cold. Everything needed seasoning and to get salt or pepper out of the shakers, you needed to unscrew the lids for some reason. The majority of our party had upset stomachs and needed to visit the bathroom soon after eating so I'm not sure if it was related to the food or a bizarre coincidence, which leads me to the bathrooms. Yikes, they need a serious update. The men's restroom should be a single room with a lock on the door. The privacy wall installed around the toilet was not leaving much to the imagination. You could see the forehead of the guy sitting on the toilet. My daughters told me the women's wasn't any better. It was cramped and if the door opened, you had to step back into the stall to make room for...
