SOLID. Almost too good to exist in such a sleepy part of Almaden. I saw the reviews, saw they open at 7am, and had to try it. It's a lot like Chipotle with the food counter and design and overall aesthetic, but even better. The freshness is absolutely better than Chipotle. I tried a ton of tacos and a quesabirria. The flour taco's tortilla is house made, it was great! As for meats, the Al pastor is the show winner for me. It's unique, properly charred, and has excellent flavor. The asada was my least favorite but still quite excellent, and super beefy tasting. The carnitas was very good, though I'd have asked for a bit more of a fatty portion. Quesabirria was also very very good. They have a handful of other options as well, but nothing super Mexican like tripa. They have fresh churros, mine was ten minutes old. It was great, especially for the super low fair price it is. Also I tried the horchata, which was one of the best I've ever had. It was sweet, very cinnamon-y, and was ultra refreshing. Pricing is just fair. $4 tacos. I'd honestly want them to be bigger and meatier. Consider that $4.50 gets you a SUPER taco from La Victoria that's enormous, like 3x the size, AND includes sour cream, cheese, and guac for .50 more than here. Most things here seem to be a dollar or two more than a good value I think, but the quality makes up for it.

I don’t want to tell y’all about Chispiro’s and at the same time I wanna tell everyone about Chispiro’s. Across from one of the best coffee cafe’s in San Jose (Blvd Coffee Almaden) is a wonderful eatery serving burritos, taco, tortas and more fresh in front of your eyes. You start on the right and shuffle left as staff builds your entree scoop by scoop. In my case it was a burrito with carne asada, pinto beans, Mexican rice, cilantro, onion, lime and an assortment of salsas. Wrapped tight within the warm tortilla and then stuffed into a paper wrap for me to grab n go. The staff-everyone of the three I interacted with were welcoming, friendly and attentive. Customer service was top notch. I ate outside on one of the few tables and daydreamed of when I would return. The burrito was excellent. The chips were fresh and salty. Located in a small strip mall/plaza there was plenty of parking.

The food is fresh and flavorful. The Carnitas is moist and juicy. The Grilled Chicken is season just right. The Chorizo is fresh and mildly spicy. The Al Pastor is delicious. There's a variety of salsas and other items. Atmosphere is nice and welcoming, though a little small inside. Hopefully they'll have outdoor seating as well during the nice weather. Prices are reasonable and portions sizes are typical. Best of all, is that all of the employees are really nice, friendly, and full of smiles. Wishing Chispiro's lots of success and business. One of my new favorite places for Mexican food! 🌮🌯🙌🏼😋

It makes me sad that I can no longer spend my money here. I really liked the food and enjoy the employees but they just can not stop ruining my meals and refusing to just say our bad and making it right.

In my most recent 3 trips (visit #1)l I arrive upon opening and am told the beans aren't ready yet and it would take 10 minutes additional or I can change my order...I say I'm happy to wait 10 minutes and wait 33 minutes for my meal, it was always almost done. The next trip in (visit #2) was great, my food was prepared correctly and the guy working was having a bad bay and that's perfectly fine, you don't have to be smiley. Then this morning (visit #3) I order the exact same thing I always get and pay the increased twice now cost of $11.76 for the only breakfast item that comes with either beans or rice but mine had not one grain of rice. I got home, began eating my breakfast...wondering where the rice was and why so many beans. 1/3 of the way through I begon to realize there is no rice and just open the whole thing. No rice but plethoras of beans. I drive back and am told ithat it was Breakfast Item Three and it comes with beans but no rice, THAT IS A BLATANT LIE!!! So it's now my fault....BUT the Breakfast Item Five is the ONLY ITEM THAT COMES WITH EITHER RICE OR BEANS... but to blame me is insane either way, even though I'm correct in both instances.

Only one Breakfast Item is $11.76, what I paid. Just say "our bad" and make it right....they just cant do it. Gotta blame the customer who would come 3 times a week...if y'all could stop messing up orders over and over. More than half the time I go here there is an issues. Anyway. I will not be back. It's a shame. Wish they did a better job at being thorough, because the food is delicious. Shame they couldn't stop messing with my food....intentionally or otherwise....so much time wasted and having to go elsewhere after trying to get food here. I

I highly do NOT recommend this place.

33 minutes and I still came back. I tried so many other times too!!!!!! Sitting here...

I have been going here 2 times a week since this place has opened. They are a friendly, family owned business. But I will no longer go here.

When this place first opened, all the meats were fresh and delicious, they now serve old dry meat. It's very annoying that never know what your going to get, very inconsistent with who makes your burrito. The young hired staff almost always makes you a low grade, small portion, crappy burrito, you have to be lucky enough to get an owner to make it.

They have gotten way too cheap with with their guacamole and pico di gallo, which makes me the most mad!!! I love fresh guac and pico in my burrito's. For the first year they were open, guac was free and they gave you a nice big spoonful, now you have to to pay $2 extra for guac and it 1/5th the portion they used to give you for free.

What a shame, they took a good concept and ruined it by being cheap and literally charging you $2 for less than a Tablespoon of guac and you can't even taste it in the burrito because it's such a tiny portion. You guys suck! If you change your ways, and treat customer with respect, I'll...
