I'm a vegetarian and I was visiting San Jose in this area when I saw this restaurant. I was excited because I love vegetarian Asian cuisine. I read some reviews and decided to check it out. I was confused when I arrived because I didn't realize there was also a buffet and after an awkward few minutes I was seated. I really wish that the menu had better descriptions of each dish. I ordered spring rolls and the duck with steamed buns. A few minutes later the waiter returned saying that there were no spring rolls so I decided to try another entrée, veggie fish with ginger sauce. The duck arrived quickly but was literally just a slab of deep fried mock duck surrounded by flat, white, steamed buns(see attached picture) It was so greasy and the accompanying sauce tasted fresh out of a can. I tried not to feel too disheartened and decided to hold judgment until the fish came.. maybe I just ordered poorly. The fish arrived on its sad, wilted bed of lettuce decorated with old cucumber and a bowl of cold, watery ginger sauce. Besides the depressing presentation the fish was burnt and extremely greasy. I then asked for a side of some steamed broccoli to try to balance out this unhealthy and underwhelming meal. The broccoli was great, though the portion was a little small (four small flowerets) I scanned the menu again looking for some sort of soup savior but then decided against it since my bill was already a whopping $24. I haven't been this depressed about a meal ever. I thanked them, tipped my waiter and got the hell out of there feeling sorry for my wallet. Dine at...
Read moreIf you are looking for a little better than average Vietnamese-like vegetarian food for a really good PRICE, this is the best place I've found so far in the south bay area! For the prices I went here back in Nov 2021.
Here is what I ordered: Looks like lemongrass meatballs, bought the 32oz. $9.25 lunch/to go entrée. I would say taste wise, it is a 7 out of 10.
Black bean tofu, bought 32oz. $9.25 lunch/to go entrée. 8 out of 10 for taste.
Pineapple tofu and fake beef, bought 32oz. $9.25 lunch/to go entrée. 9 out of 10 for taste.
Fake shrimp, $2 each lunch/to go entree. For me personally, I would not buy this again, texture was a bit too soggy for me, but some of you may like it.
Sweet and sour chicken, ordered entree for $11.85. 9 out of 10 for taste.
lemongrass chicken, ordered entree for $11.85. 8 out of 10 for taste.
The $9.25 32oz. container is definitely a better deal! You probably get twice as much as compared to ordering an entree from the menu.
If it was close to me, I'd probably come here every 10 days!
Price: 5 stars! Taste: 3.5 stars! (compared to merit vegan restaurant in sunnyvale)
I care more about quantity for the price :) so giving this...
