Let me tell ya, I rolled the dice on this joint, and it's safe to say I'd rather eat rusty nails for breakfast.
I waltzed into this so-called "eggetarian" paradise, expecting a symphony of flavors and a culinary journey that would make my soul buzz. But what did I get? A gastronomic nightmare that's what.
First off, let's talk about their audacious four-egg Chef Special. I took a bite, and all I got was a mouthful of disappointment. The garlicky mess they call a gravy had the subtlety of a sledgehammer. I've had more delicate flavor explosions from a malfunctioning firework.
And don't even get me started on the three-egg gotala. Grated eggs resembling shredded cheese? More like a crime against taste buds. I felt like I was eating a failed science experiment. Luke Tsai, buddy, you might need to check your taste buds because calling these creations miracles is an insult to actual miracles.
The service? Oh, don't get me started. The waitstaff acted like they were doing me a favor by acknowledging my existence. I've seen more enthusiasm from a sloth on sedatives. I've had better conversations with my toaster.
To top it all off, the ambiance was about as inviting as a robot rebellion. The decor looked like someone raided a garage sale from the '80s, and the lighting was dim enough to make me question if I had walked into a culinary dungeon.
Luke Tsai, my man, I don't know what enchanted egg world you're living in, but Egglicious India ain't it. If you're into culinary self-flagellation, by all means, give it a go. But if you value your taste buds and sanity, run in the opposite direction. This place is a five-egg disaster on a whole new scale, and not in the way they want you to believe. Save yourself, and your palate, from this unholy...
Read moreTried Indo-chinese sizzler (fried rice, chinese bhel, veg manchuran). It was so-so (taste, quantity, quality, overall). Tried Veg thaali today (only available Mon-Thurs), it was bad. Chaas absolutely SALTY, rotis were those bulk half-made broiled on tava (hard, no taste), vegetables (mutter paneer and chhole) were so-so, raita very salty, shrikhand was decent, daal half-cooked. Met chief chef and founding business partner Sagar Patil, he wished to correct things and offered replacement soft rotis or paratha (I declined politely), met with founder Ms. Patel, she tried chaas and confirmed it was unbearably salty. I told her about my Indian Veg food critiquing expertise, told her that I didn't want to false praise the food, I gave her constructive feedback and suggested her to check with other people and make necessary changed (chef, cooking preparation etc.), she of course didn't like me saying it, she kept emphasizing and justifying saying their specialty was "egg*" and people loved it.. She saw I didn't eat even 30% of thaali and with such feedback, when it came time to pay, a decent "customer" focused owner would have refused to charge me (at least offered not to charge, I'd have paid anyway) but she didn't even offer. Says a lot about the person and their attitude and business philosophy. If anyone is reading this and have any faith in my judgement/assessment, they'd simply avoid trying vegetarian (non-egg) dishes or simply choose another...
Read moreWent here for lunch looking at the reviews. As the name suggests, the menu here is mostly egg-centric and they have a lot of variety to offer in that category from appetizers to mains. You order at the counter first and they bring your food to your table. This was a minor inconvenience, since I had to get up a couple times (coz I cant decide what I wanna eat at once ) There are a fair number of tables to sit but some of them are too close to each other.
Now for the food. Surati Egg Gotala: This is a variant of egg bhurji which comes with masala pav (indian dinner rolls). It was very yummy. Ordered extra pav to finish it.
Boiled Egg Lasan Tadka: This tasted somewhat similar to the gotala but was yummy nonetheless.
Veg Chinese Sizzler: I loved the rice and chinese bhel combo. Plus it comes with manchurian in gravy which adds to the flavor.
Kullad Chai: I had my hopes too high for this one. The taste was good but the tea was just warm (not hot).
Overall I really liked the food. Also the restaurant offers a menu that IMO no other place...
