Autry Cellars — Restaurant in San Luis Obispo

I have to admit that I actually didn't try the wines, as I'm not much of a "day drinker", even if it is just a sampling. However, I'm giving a five-star review entirely based on our experience with Mr. Autry.

Although we told him from the outset that we just stopped by on a whim as we were in the area and weren't going to do a tasting he was still incredibly welcoming, entertaining and generally great company. His knowledge and experience far exceeds the boundaries of wine making.

Autry Cellars is a small winery that makes exceptional wines. I've purchased Viognier, Tertian Harmony (red blend), Malbec, Merlot, Group Improv (Rosé), and Forte. I found the winery through a friend, and so have sampled a number of others, too. I love them all! It was my first experience with grappa and apple brandy, which are also superb. I owned a wine bar in Pismo Beach for several years, and had the privilege of tasting/carrying many of the central coast wines. But the only wine club I belong to is Autrey Cellars. Steve Autrey's wines are simply amazing. He is a true, passionate, boutique wine maker, and his product shows his commitment, knowledge, and artistry.
