Legit-Ass Meats BBQ — Restaurant in San Marcos

Absolutely some of the best BBQ I've had in a 30 mile radius. We discovered this by visiting the awesome Riley's Tavern road house on New Year's eve, saw the reviews were solid -- and I'm so excited we tried it! I was in a group of 6, he had plates out in about 10 minutes, and all of our eyes popped out as soon as we tasted it. When he says "legit", he means it. I had the meat sampler with brisket, pulled pork, and jalapeño cheese sausage -- and all three were out of this world. Ate with and without sauce, both supremely satisfying. A rare wonder! Riley's is awesome, this BBQ is awesome, and I can't wait to finish digesting so I can go back again!...

I would give it 6 stars but he dropped 1/2 my sandwich today, and replaced it with a taco!!! Who does incredible things like that!!? Nobody. And also replies to EVERY review, AND remembers exactly what happened with that order..?? Nobody. I’ll tell you why the meat tastes so good…. Love. First and foremost I offer up the disclaimer that my interaction with this business, or rather the lack of, was brokered by a third party (Too Good to Go). Was really looking forward to giving this place a try, but first curveball was pitched: order pickup window delayed by 30 minutes. Okay, no problem, still on my way home and would get there almost perfect timing.
