Diamond Cafe — Restaurant in San Xavier District

FYI, this restaurant is located inside of the DESERT DIAMOND CASINO. We tried this restaurant 4x, with three of the orders being compromised and incorrect prior to this last visit of ours! Thank you again to Tonya, she’s responsible for this pleasant visit. Upon arrival she spoke to us and had the Head Chef come over to our table to discuss what we couldn’t eat so that our order was made correctly. That was very appreciated because previously when we relayed that information to the cashier it wasn’t honored and we weren’t accommodated. On their menu they have “spaghetti and meatballs” so instead we came up with Spaghetti with mushrooms, garlic, onion, tomatoes and parsley. They paired with grilled bread toasted with oil. Please keep in mind that marinara had to be used from a separate spare container due to their main supply being used to coat the meatballs it comes with. So if you ever dine in or take out please be specific about how your order is made and be sure to notify them of any possibility of contamination. We had the breaded mushrooms, fried extra crispy. We also had a salad that is not on the menu, we had it custom made. The salad had romaine, tobacco crispy onions, tomatoes, red onions, strawberries and avocado. The salad was also paired with grilled bread toasted in oil. The head Chef verified that everything we consumed was VEGAN. We ordered two unsweetened peach teas which were really good. The food itself this time was a 10/10 but due to the fact that 3 orders was incorrect it got a 2/5 because they need to show more consistency with future orders when we visit the casino! Yesterday my husband and I went to lunch at this restaurant because we were going to have a good time at the casino. This is the second time we have eaten at this restaurant. the treatment of the employees is perfect, they work very well and are super polite and friendly. The first time I ordered the salmon with risotto (it was delicious !! the risotto had a lot of flavor and the salmon was just right) it was so good that the second time I went, I ordered the same. My husband ordered fish and potatoes for the first time and I tried it too and it was delicious, perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and cooked to perfection on the inside and with a lot of flavor. The second time my husband ordered a chicken caesar salad and it was also very good but we ordered a prawn cocktail to share and it was not really good, the prawns were undercooked and had no flavor, but then we observed that they took it away from us of the account and we do not pay it. Even if you don’t like going to the casinos, this is one restaurant that you should try. They have dinner specials every night so you can get a good meal at a good price.

They have an awesome prime rib dinner on Sat & Sun. The chef delivers a perfectly cooked meal. The prime rib is seasoned well, the mash is creamy and buttery, and I really enjoy the green beans. They have these great parmesan chips that you can ask for with your salad, crispy but not greasy.

We've ordered most of the appetizers and found that we really like the shrimp cocktail the best. They lay the shrimp on cucumbers and the sauce has a good bite, so the cucumber is a great refresh. The wine list if quite extensive and reasonable. I usually partake of the petite sarah which has always been a good pairing with the prime rib
